141. Notas Astrologicas En La Carta Astral Del Dalai Lama
Aspectos astrol³gicos en la carta astral del dalai lama
http://members.es.tripod.de/spicasc/dalalam.html

Dalai Lama
Head of the Dge-lugs-pa order of Tibetan Buddhists, 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, 1935
Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival. This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed. I am open to the guidance of synchronicity, and do not let expectations hinder my path. I am a simple Buddhist monk.

Dalai Lama meets former Taiwan president
The Dalai Lama (L) meets former Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui and his wife TAIPEI, Taiwan The Dalai Lama smiles and clasps the hands of former President Lee Teng-hui, a reunion between two of the people greatly disliked by China. Lee bowed deeply when he greeted the Tibetan spiritual leader at the retired president's office in suburban Taipei. The two posed for photos briefly before sending the media away and continuing their meeting in private. The visit has not drawn immediate criticism from China as it did when the Dalai Lama visited Taiwan for the first time in 1997 and met with Lee, branded a "troublemaker" and "splittist" by Beijing. Lee flashed his famous lopsided grin as the Dalai Lama told him how "very, very eager" the Taiwanese are about studying Buddhism. Thousands attended the Tibetan religious leader's daily lectures during his 10-day trip.

Dalai Lama visit provides a subject for scientists
By Gareth Cook, Globe Staff, 9/12/2003 The Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of an ancient religion, arrives in Boston today with a surprising goal: changing the field of neuroscience. ADVERTISEMENT For more than 15 years, the Dalai Lama has been inviting small groups of top Western scientists to his Himalayan home for private discussions about science and its potential links to Buddhist thought. At an MIT auditorium tomorrow, the Tibetan leader will begin presiding over two days of intense discussions the first ones open to the public aimed at understanding what happens inside the meditating brain, and what it can reveal about the broader workings of the human mind. Though many Western researchers are skeptical about working with a man who believes in reincarnation and was chosen for his position based on a vision in a lake, the MIT conference quickly sold out to an audience of about 1,200 people, mainly scientists, and racked up a waiting list of 1,600.

They follow in the footsteps of nomadic herds people and pilgrims, who for centuries have traversed these passes and valleys. In my younger years I too enjoyed venturing into the hills surrounding Dharamsala, which has been home to me for more than 30 years. Spending time in the mountains is tremendously uplifting." Message from H.H. The Dalai Lama - Thekchen Choeling, McLeodganj, Dharamsala, 3.1.96 This unique expedition combines awesome Himalayan trekking with a visit to India's exiled Tibetan community. The challenge begins and ends in Dharamsala, where your group will be granted a private audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama (subject to His Holiness' commitments). Home to the displaced Tibetan Government, the town is situated at the heart of the world's highest mountain range. The region remains largely unvisited, which makes it a pristine and unspoilt area to trek.

Dalai Lama waiting for green light from China
September 9, 2003 Print this article Email to a friend Hand of friendship ... the Dalai Lama with Muhammad Ali at the Chamtse Ling temple in Bloomington, Indiana. Photo: Reuters/Frank Polich Related: About a boy in saffron robes The Dalai Lama is willing to return to Tibet and end nearly half a century of exile in India if China allows him to go back to his homeland "without preconditions". Tibet's exiled spiritual leader said he was ready to return to the capital, Lhasa, which he fled in 1959, as soon as he got the "green light" from Beijing. China's communist government had stopped him visiting Tibet, most recently in 1984, and prevented him from travelling to sacred Buddhist sites inside China, he said. "I'm hopeful to visit Tibet, to see my old place with my own eyes, and try to cool down the situation," he added. The Dalai Lama's offer follows a thaw between China and Tibet's exiled leadership, and came on the eve of his three-week trip to the US, which began on Sunday. He is likely to discuss his possible return to Tibet with President George Bush, whom he is to meet next week.

@import url(http://www.homestead.com/~media/elements/Text/font_styles.css); Last update - May 25, 2004 I am secure in the cloak of the Dharma and the inspiring words of Buddha. Gone are the days of lonliness.
Now I am able to look forward to tomorrow.
Now my life becomes fruitful! I have succeeded as a human being! Today I am born in the Buddha family! I have become a child of Buddha! From now on may all my actions suit that family tradition! May I never act to disgrace this family so impeccable and holy!
He abused me, he laughed at me, he struck me. Thus one thinks and so long as one retains such thoughts, one's anger continues. Anger will never disappear so long as there are thoughts of resentment in the mind. Anger will disappear just as soon as thoughts of resentment are forgotten.
To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one's own in the midst of abundance.
Buddha
When you think everything is someone else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy. Pride leads to violence and evil. The truly good gaze upon everything with love and understanding.
Once we fully overcome attachment and all of its ways of thought, then we will clearly understand that all goodness and all defilement arise dependent on inner conditions.

He spooks official China; he enraptures Goldie Hawn. How to explain the impact of the Tibetan spiritual leader? Photos by Rob Kruyt
Mon., Apr. 19, 2004 By Daniel Gawthrop GALLERY TheTyee.ca Text by Daniel Gawthrop Photos by Rob Kruyt Every time Tenzin Gyatso — better known as His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama — lands in a Western country, two kinds of stories abound. The first is political: will the country's presiding leader grant an audience with His Holiness, thus incurring the wrath of the Chinese government (which on one hand dismisses the Dalai Lama's political and religious importance to Tibet while on the other denouncing him as a dangerous separatist)? The second focuses on his charisma as the world's most famous religious exile: the celebrity magnet whose adherents include Richard Gere and Harrison Ford and whose mass appeal rivals that of the Rolling Stones. This week's appearance in Canada is no different. Predictably, the Chinese ambassador issued veiled threats to Prime Minister Paul Martin, urging him not to meet with His Holiness. (Martin dithered for a while—he likes to please everyone, after all—before finally deciding that there were more votes in becoming the first Canadian prime minister to break bread with the Tibetan people's spiritual leader than in snubbing him.)

Over the course of the conference, held April 13-15 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, about the "60 Stanzas of Reasoning," the students say they frequently were confused, philosophically challenged and spiritually stirred. Their question posed to the Dalai Lama: "How can you have the self-confidence to be selfless without being an individual and still know that you are doing the right thing?"

Taiwan bids farewell to Dalai Lama
Before the Dalai Lama's visit ends, he meets Taiwan nun, Chengyen TAIPEI, Taiwan The Dalai Lama has wrapped up a 10-day visit to Taiwan, a trip that appeared not to raise tensions with the island's communist neighbor, China. China distrusts the Dalai Lama because since fleeing Tibet in 1959 following a failed uprising against Chinese rule, he has opposed the way Beijing governs the Himalayan territory. The Tibetan spiritual leader told reporters at the airport that it was his "moral responsibility" to visit his Buddhist followers on Taiwan and that his trip was "very happy, very good." Although the Dalai Lama says he supports greater autonomy, not independence, for Tibet, Chinese leaders continue to accuse him of being a "splittist." China's state-run media said his Taiwan trip was part of a scheme to collude with Taiwanese independence supporters and raise money for his "separatist" campaign.

Museum Info
Mission Statement Staffs Photo Gallery ... Credits The Tibet museum was established with the aim of presenting Tibet’s history and visions for its future through texts, photographs, videos and installations. The museum features our main exhibition, "A long look homeward". It is divided into two sections: the first floor presents the Chinese occupation of Tibet and its results, and the second one displays Tibet’s past and hopes for its future. In addition, the museum hosts a memorial for the 1.2 million Tibetans who died as a result of the Chinese occupation of Tibet, a remembrance and hope butter-lamp display.
The small lecture hall is used for showing various historical films on Tibet, lectures and presentations relating to Tibetan history and culture. Catering to the diverse audience of visitors to Dharamsala, all the textual presentations in the museum are given in three languages: Tibetan, English and Hindi. The Tibet Museum is more than a space for exhibitions, installations and lectures. It also provides a platform for educational activities relating to Tibetan history - through in-house activities and special events, travelling museum kits, catalogues, and various other publications.
