I believe president George W Bush is a warmongering, freedom-trashing, religion-intolerent, silver-spooned asshole. We know 7 hundred American soldiers are dead and counting, but how many human animals in total are killed? A couple of thousand? 10 thousand? Terrorism won't die when there is deep hatred, and deep hatred won't go away by force and suppression. In our age, technology has enabled small invidividuals to cause huge catastrophe. It is not possible to prevent terrorist acts even given a totalitarian police-state. President George W Bush is a criminal of humanity of 21st century, and also responsible is the American people, caused by their emotion and national pride. Dear Visitor, The Internet is full of information, fun, magic, jokes, puzzles, data, and inspiration about mathematics. Many organizations and many ordinary people (like me) who love the subject spend time trying to make math fun for kids, teachers, and adults who either love math or have math phobias. Some sites interact with you. That is, they ask you to do something, and then do something in return. For example, they may let you play a game where you move a player and then the Web page moves a player in response. We've spent some time wandering around the Web, and have collected a few sites we think you will like. If you'd like to comment on any of these links, or if you can suggest other links which particularly interest you, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
    Sincerely,
P.S. Clicking on any of these links will open a new browser window for you. Just close the new window by clicking the X in the upper right corner, when you've finished reading about the link.

    Introduction
When you buy a car, follow a recipe, or decorate your home, you're using math principles. People have been using these same principles for thousands—even millions—of years, across countries and continents. Whether you're sailing a boat off the coast of Hawaii or building a house in New York, you're using math to get things done. How can math be so universal? First, human beings didn't invent math concepts; we discovered them. Also, the language of math is numbers, not English or German or Spanish. If we are well versed in this language of numbers, it can help us make important decisions and perform everyday tasks. Math can help us to shop wisely, buy the right insurance, remodel a home within a budget, understand population growth, or even bet on the horse with the best chance of winning the race. Learn and enjoy!! Math Tutorials and Other Resources Homework Central The largest study site on the Internet. Covers all levels of education and all subjects. Change the pair of patterns at right to any of the pairs at left. (The original pair is at top left.) To change the patterns, click on a row, then click on the row you want to move it to. Do the same for other rows and/or columns and/or quadrants. If the pictures change too slowly, try holding down the Alt key and pressing the left arrow key, then the right arrow key, then releasing the Alt key (or, equivalently, paging back, then forward). For a somewhat more user-friendly version of the puzzle, see Alexei Vernitski's 16 site. Each pattern you make has some ordinary or color-interchange symmetry. For the new mathematics underlying this invariance of symmetry, see Geometry of the 4x4 Square and Diamond Theory For a less technical overview of material related to the puzzle, see Theme and Variations and Block Designs in Art and Mathematics In rearranging the parts of the puzzle, you are creating a "group of permutations." This group, known as AGL(4, 2), is described by the lengthier phrase "the affine group on the linear space of four dimensions over the two-element field." It has 322,560 elements. Some indication of the role this group plays in higher mathematics is given in the following papers: The Geometry of the Mathieu Groups , by Peter J. Cameron, 1991

Open up any of Harold Jacobs' math text books and browse a bit Elementary Algebra, Geometry , or Mathematics a Human Endeavor . I don't think you'll be able to just close the cover with a polite yawn very quickly. First you might be pulled in by the cartoons, real cartoons from Peanuts, the New Yorker Magazine, B.C., and other sources, that all have math as their topic in one way or another. You'll soon be chuckling and flipping through to look for more. You'll find them. Jokes like thisa small boy is reading a newspaper with the following article: Toledo, Apr 19 (UPS) Professor T.B. Murray, world famous philosopher-mathematician, writing in the prestigious literary magazine, "You and the Idaho Potato," claims to have solved the problem of feeding 220,000,000 Americans. "The solution," writes the Professor, "Is to move the decimal point seven digits to the left." Feeding twenty-two people "should be a snap," Prof. Murray said.

A Mathematics Laboratory Program for the Primary Grades
Mathematical activity is a thought process in abstract relationships, growing out of human observation and experience in the physical world. It is a faculty which extracts patterns from specific problems and experiences and applies those patterns to the solution of other not yet understood problems. The joy and excitement of mathematics lie in the discovery that many apparently unrelated problems have basically the same mathematical structure. Mathematical analysis, then, is one of our most powerful tools for understanding this unity
