How many will pass? OK, trick question and, with 115 students from Whitney Young Magnet High School's academic center for seventh- and eighth-graders, you might want to guess high. Young's eighth-grade class has scored at the top in the math portion of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test since the exam was first used in 1999. This year's school report card shows it's the only Chicago school to have 100 percent of its eighth-graders meet or exceed state standards. Half of the Young eighth-graders who took the math test last year 57 had perfect scores, said Roger Prietz, Young's assistant principal. "It's really common for us to get good scores on standardized tests," said Bianca Williams, 14, a Young freshman. "It was like an everyday thing for most of us." Indeed, it doesn't come as a great shock when students at Young test well. Even to take the entrance exam for the West Side magnet school at 211 S.
