A Family Brought Together By Love
Welcome! This website is dedicated to the descendants of William and Julia Walton. William and Julia were born approximately in the 1850s. Although their birthplace is unknown, oral history suggests that the couple raised their family in Alexander City, Alabama. Their family consisted of seven children: Thomas, George, Freeman, Annie, Sue, William, Jr., and Oliver. From these seven arose offspring who carry the surnames of Walton, Graham, Stevenson, and Hawkins. It is likely that William and Julia were born into slavery, freed in 1865 by the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Today, Walton descendants are doctors, lawyers, factory workers, teachers, engineers, ministers, actors, homemakers, nurses, etc. The Walton family tree boasts over 1200 people that can be found from California to Florida, from Alabama to Washington, D.C., Ohio to Texas, and overseas.
The Walton family is part of a network of families called the "United Family". The United Family originates from Alexander City and includes descendants of the Wright, Davis, Tuck, Monticure, Smith, Vines, Lindsey, and Walton families. These families are linked through marriage and offspring making our family history one.

This disc is of considerable interest since it contains the full score provided by Sir William Walton for The Battle of Britain together with the soundtrack actually used in the film which was composed by Ron Goodwin. As film buffs and Walton fans will know the only piece of Walton's score MGM used in its entirety in the 1969 production was the famous Battle in the Air sequence, though, on a recent broadcast, snatches of Walton's Battle of Britain March appeared briefly at the very end of the film. What of the music itself? The disc allows us to appreciate the two composers' different approaches to the task of providing a score and it must be said that Goodwin is by no means outclassed. True, the Battle of Britain March by Walton is stirring and quintessentially British though it adheres very closely to the chord sequences which make up the Orb and Sceptre March, the March for

Born in Lancashire in 1902 to a musical family, Walton was a chorister at Christ Church Cathedral at Oxford, later studied at the university and from 1920 lived with the Sitwell family in London. The three Sitwells siblings, all budding poets, introduced him to many major musical and literary figures of the time, including Delius , Diaghilev, and T. S. Eliot. His chamber entertainment Façade of 1921 soon became popular as an orchestral suite and ballet. MIDI FILE - Bagatelle No.5 for guitar The overture Portsmouth Point (1925) skyrocketed his international popularity, while the more introspective Viola Concerto (1929), premiered by Paul Hindemith , solidified his reputation in England and abroad. Three major blockbusters followed: the monstrous choral work, Belshazzar's Feast (1931), the First Symphony (1935) for conductor Hamilton Harty, and a Violin Concerto (1939) commissioned by Jascha Heifetz. The march Crown Imperial (1937), composed for the coronation of King George VI, placed him as Elgar 's unofficial successor as master of the art of regalia.

Komponisten William Walton (geb.
