Mrs Janice Wright leading Thundering Surf after winning The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot. Latest News.
It's a busy winter here at Kings Ride, good success at the races, training horses for The American Horse Racing Club and some promising new horses
Owning a racehorse can be as serious or as casual as you want it to be. For some, owning a racehorse is all about winning races, for others, watching the horse working, attending race meetings, seeing the horse race, is all part of the experience. Of course, if the horse wins, then this is an added sparkle to a great day out.
As a family run business, we feel that the personal touch can make a difference to a horse's performance. We strive hard to make sure each horse has equal access to John's expertise and can derive maximum benefit from our integral gallops and training facilities.
If you would like to know more about owning a racehorse, please don't hesitate to contact me using our feedback form, email or even by telephone if you require further information.

25. Review-Essay Of Mayan Prophecies

Review-Essay of Mayan Prophecies by Gilbert and Cotterell, Element Books 1995
Book Review. October 18th, 1995
by John Major Jenkins
c. Four Ahau Press
Cotterell proposes that the Mayan collapse (which began around 800 A.D.) was caused by a decline in fertility attended by the field-reversal of 627 A.D. In Appendix 4, Cotterell shows that the field reversal doesn't happen overnight, but over a 374-year period. 627 A.D. is the "mid-point" of the shift, which thus extended from 440-814 A.D. This doesn't correspond very well with the Maya decline, in fact it corresponds better with the Classic Period florescence of Mayan culture (300 A.D. - 900 A.D.).
In Gilbert's final look at the end-date, SKYGLOBE reveals that "Venus sinks below the western horizon as the Pleiades rise over the eastern horizon... as the sun sets, Orion rises, perhaps signifying the start of a new precessional cycle." (211). And such is the anticlimactic revelation. These astronomical observations are not very illustrative of vast World Age shiftings. If a new precessional cycle is being highlighted by Mayan myth and calendar, then an astronomical situation dependant on precessional movement itself should be evident. And indeed it is, as my work with the astronomy of the end date demonstrates (sources given below).
Now, I'd like to sweep through the text once more and point out these errors, at least the ones I haven't already mentioned. This is done in the spirit of independent researchers helping each other out rather than in the name of academic intolerance because, first of all, I'm not an academic and second, publishing a book with presumptions of pushing untested ideas as revelatory breakthroughs begs for correction.

JENKINS, JOHN HOLLAND (1822-1890). John Holland Jenkins, soldier of the Republic of Texas, qv Texas Ranger, Confederate soldier, and author of an important memoir, was born on September 16, 1822, in Demopolis, Marengo County, Alabama, the son of Edward and Sarah (Parrent) Jenkins. He was a man of little education but learned to write in a vigorous and cultivated style. By his recollection he and his family left Alabama in mid-October 1828 for Stephen F. Austin's qv third or little colony in Texas and lived for a time with the family of William Barton qv on Barton Creek near the site of present Rosanky before building a cedar-log cabin on their own league on the west bank of the Colorado River near the site of present Bastrop in 1830. Other sources suggest that the move occurred in 1829. In 1833 Edward Jenkins was mysteriously murdered while working in his field, and young Jenkins became the ward of Edward Burleson. qv Sarah Jenkins, with three young children and pregnant with a fourth, sold half of her husband's land to Abram Wiley Hill and moved into Bastrop. In 1835 she married James Northcross, qv a Methodist minister from Virginia. They had one son.

JENKINS, JOHN HOLMES III (1940-1989). John Holmes Jenkins III, historian, publisher, and bookseller, the son of John Holmes and Sue (Chalmers) Jenkins, Jr., was born in Beaumont, Texas, on March 22, 1940. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1958 and was honored as Dick Dowling Valedictorian and Outstanding Young Man of Beaumont. A sixth-generation Texan, he identified strongly with his family heritage. During his high school years he spent his summers editing the memoirs of his great-great-grandfather, John Holland Jenkins, qv an early Bastrop pioneer. The resulting book, Recollections of Early Texas was published by the University of Texas Press qv in 1958, on the day Jenkins graduated from high school, and has gone through several printings. The foreword was written by J. Frank Dobie. qv Jenkins attended the University of Texas on a General Motors Fellowship and a Rotary Fellowship and became a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. After a year of studies at the University of Texas Law School he began a career as a publisher and bookseller in Austin. Between 1963 and 1990 the Jenkins Publishing Company, including the Pemberton Press for trade publishing and the San Felipe Press for private publishing, produced more than 300 titles, several of which Jenkins wrote or edited. In 1965 he compiled and published Cracker Barrel Chronicles: A Bibliography of Texas Town and County Histories a comprehensive listing of 5,000 titles, which won the Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History. His ten-volume
