Peter Heise: Drot og Marsk - en opera i skillelinien Peter Heise og Chr. Richardts opera Drot og Marsk havde premiere i 1878, og operaen står på en skillelinie i dansk musikdramatisk historie mellem den romantiske ideverden som emne og den tekstnære musik uden egentlige afsluttede musiknumre som stil. Samtidig behandler dramaet evigt aktuelle temaer som erotik, jalousi og hævn, og det er da også en af de få danske operaer fra 1800-tallet, der stadig opføres jævnligt. I august 1875 omtalte komponisten Peter Heise ideen om en opera over mordet på kong Erik Klipping (1249-1286) for sin svigerinde, Elise Ploug, som straks udarbejdede et udkast til handlingsgangen. Det sendte komponisten til sin ungdomsven, forfatteren Chr. Richardt, som ligeledes hurtigt gik i gang med librettoen. Heise havde tidligere arbejdet med temaet i forbindelse med en ouverture til forfatteren Carsten Hauchs drama Marsk Stig Allerede i september 1875 spurgte Heise, om ikke Det Kongelige Teaters censor Christian K.F. Molbech kunne godtage de to første akter og en handlingsgang for de to sidste, og det mente Molbech nok. Librettoen var færdig i november 1875, og midt i måneden kunne den så sendes til teatret. Den 6. december 1875 blev operateksten antaget med anbefalinger som ”megen poetisk Stemning og lyrisk-romantiske Enkeltheder af virkelig Skønhed” samt ”Scener og Situationer af sand dramatisk-musikalsk Karakter”. Den indeholdt ”Forfatterens bekendte rytmiske Sang og Sprogkunst hvori en hjemlig Sprogtone med Klang af Folkevisen er heldig anslaaet og gennemført” – ”en særdeles vellykket Operatekst”. Man håbede nu, at Heises musik kunne leve op til disse lovord, og det kunne egentlig godt være blevet en noget tam fornøjelse i et for tiden gammeldags romantisk tonesprog.

"Salon"-Autor James Poniewozik hatte "einen echten Kiffer-Film" gesehen, und eine christliche Website in den USA feiert die Neuverfilmung des Evangeliums als Cyberthriller. Hollywoods Hellseher gaben der vertrackten Story keine Chance beim Massenpublikum, aber dann legte Matrix den erfolgreichsten US-Kinostart des Jahres hin, bis Mitte Mai der Krieg der Sterne ausbrach. An Keanu Reeves und der brillianten Optik allein kann's nicht liegen. Foto Warner Bros. 1974 eilte Rainer Werner Faßbinder mit dem Fernsehspiel "Welt am Draht" seiner Zeit um einige Jahre voraus. Mit der Vorstellung, daß wir als ahnungslose Avatare der fortgeschrittenen Art in einer Welt herumlaufen, die nur in den Schaltkreises eines Elektronengehirns existiert, irritierte der Film ein Publikum, das Computer nur als kühlschrankgroße Rechenmaschinen mit unverständlichem Lochstreifen-Output kannte. "Matrix" modifiziert diesen Plot grimmig und radikal für Zuschauer, die schon einmal Sim City gespielt, vage vom "Verschwinden der Wirklichkeit" gehört haben und sich in den komplizierten, orientierungslosen 90ern tagtäglich aufs Neue fragen, was hier eigentlich gespielt wird. (Alle anderen haben zumindest Spaß an der elegantesten Action seit John Woo, den verblüffendsten Tricks seit "Jurassic Park" und den bizarrsten Bildern seit "Brazil".) Was 1974 in preiswerter, öffentlich-rechtlicher TV-Kulisse noch als dialoglastiges Gedankenspiel daherkam, präsentiert sich 1999 auf der Kinoleinwand mit aller sinnlichen Wucht, die sich mit der Film- und Tricktechnik der Jahrtausendwende bewerkstelligen läßt.
