Home Page Die Biographie von Vincent d'Indy Französischer Komponist: einer adeligen Pariser Familie entstammend, diente d'Indy (wie Bizet ) während des Deutsch-Französischen Krieges von 1870 in der Nationalgarde und studierte von 1872 bis 1880 Komposition bei César Franck , der seinen Kompositionsstil nachhaltig geprägt hat. Auf einer Deutschlandreise im Jahr 1873 lernte er eine Anzahl deutscher Komponisten und deren Musik kennen, 1876 wohnte er der Bayreuther Uraufführung von Wagner s "Ring des Nibelungen" bei. Er kehrte als glühender Wagnerianer nach Hause zurück und war entschlossen, ein französisches Musikdrama auf der Linie seines Idols zu schaffen. 1890 wurde er Direktor der Société Nationale de Musique und war 1896 Mitbegründer der Schola Cantorum in Paris, eine Musikschule sowohl wissenschaftlicher wie praktischer Richtung. Unter dem Titel „Cours de Composition" brachte er ein vierbändiges Lehrwerk heraus (1903-1950). Von 1913 bis 1929 war er Lehrer für Instrumentation am Pariser Conservatoire.

E n 1894, Charles Bordes, en collaboration avec Vincent d'lndy et Alexandre Guilmant, fonde la Schola Cantorum, Société de Musique Religieuse, qui deviendra école de musique en 1896. En 1986, les chœurs de la Schola Cantorum renaissent par la volonté de la directrice, Christine Tréal. Elle propose la direction de l'ensemble à Patrice Holiner. La chorale se constitue alors en association régie par la loi de 1901. En 1994, la vente de l'école oblige l'association à changer de nom. Les chœurs de la Schola Cantorum portent désormais le nom de "Chœurs Vincent d'Indy". Ce grand chœur est formé d'un noyau stable d'une centaine de chanteurs amateurs de bon niveau qui est renouvelé pour un tiers environ, chaque année, au cours des auditions de début de saison (septembre). Quelques choristes du grand chœur peuvent être amenés à compléter une formation professionnelle de 24 membres pour l'interprétation de certains ouvrages. Les chœurs Vincent d'lndy sont accompagnés par l'orchestre Vincent d'Indy. Cet orchestre est actuellement composé de membres de l'association Hémus, regroupant des instrumentistes, anciens premiers prix du CNSM de Paris, jouant au sein de divers orchestres nationaux ou associatifs parisiens. Patrice Holiner débute ses études musicales en 1954 et les poursuit au CNSMP jusqu'en 1968. A partir de cette date, il dirige de nombreux stages de piano, de musique de chambre, d'orchestre et de chœurs. Professeur de piano à l'École Polytechnique et à la Schola Cantorum, il est depuis 1986 le directeur musical des chœurs Vincent d'lndy et, depuis 1996, directeur musical à l'École Polytechnique.

Vincent d'Indy Compositeur français né le 27 mars 1851 à Paris, mort le 2 décembre 1931 à Paris Biographie Compositeur fécond (105 numéros d'opus), grand travailleur et infatigable propagandiste de la musique française, critique sévère, le très aristocratique comte Paul Marie Théodore Vincent d'Indy occupa une place de tout premier plan dans la musique française pendant près d'un demi-siècle. Fortement ancré dans la tradition - il vouera toute sa vie un profond attachement au pays de ses origines, le Vivarais, qui s'exprimera notamment par les Poèmes des montagnes et par les recueils de chansons populaires du Vivarais - d'Indy se mêle très tôt à la vie musicale et déploie une impressionnante activité multiforme. Après la guerre de 1870, pendant laquelle il est engagé dans la garde nationale, il participe avec Franck et Duparc à la création de la Société Nationale de Musique (SNM), qu'il présidera en 1890. En 1874, il suit la classe d'orgue de César Franck au Conservatoire, et on le retrouve l'année suivante chef des choeurs aux Concerts Colonne.
