Three-Year Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science Radiologic science is an academic discipline that forms the foundation for the medical specialties of diagnostic radiology, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine. These medical specialties use ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Theoretical and technical advances within the field of radiologic science have allowed the development of new diagnostic modalities that enable physicians to examine virtually any part of the human body. Advances in this field have also increased the effectiveness of the radiation treatment of certain diseases, particularly cancers.
The three-year Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences program offers majors in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT), Radiation Therapy (RT), and Radiography (RAD). The curriculum of the Bachelor of Science program integrates didactic instruction in the liberal arts, basic and applied science, and the social sciences with clinical instruction provided by the clinical affiliates. The location of the College in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area, as well as its affiliations with the neighboring medical institutions, enable students to train in hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities that are among the best in the world.

Their expertise assists your primary care physician or specialist in making more accurate and earlier diagnoses, and in determining and performing the best treatments. Middlesex Health system is committed to providing the latest in medical and diagnostic imaging, and has been among the first in the area to offer local residents such advanced technologies as PET scans, both high field and open MRI, 3 Dimensional CT Reconstruction, CT Angiography, Virtual CT Endoscopy. Staffed with 15 radiologists at four convenient locations, Middlesex Health System offers a wide variety of Imaging services, including:
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI as it is commonly known, is an imaging procedure that uses magnetic field and radio waves to produce a highly accurate anatomic image. It is painless and extremely safe because no radiation is used. Aided by a computer, MRI is able to produce an image of bones and soft tissue from many different angles. The images are used by physicians to help in diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of diseases and injuries.

Competition STD NMR for the detection of high-affinity ligands and NMR-based screening
07 May 2004 The reported competition STD NMR method combines saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR with competition binding experiments to allow the detection of high-affinity ligands that undergo slow chemical exchange on the NMR time-scale. With this technique, the presence of a competing high-affinity ligand in the compound mixture can be detected by the disappearance or reduction of the STD signals of a low-affinity indicator ligand.
