Environmental Analytical Chemistry, devoted to developing new analytical methods in mass spectrometry for identifying and measuring chemical compounds in soil, water, air, wastes, food and biota. Typical analytes are: dioxins, PCB, PAH, industrial pollutants and pesticides. 2. Computational approaches are used to predict toxicity and metabolism of chemicals. This involves the development and use of expert systems and neural networks, using a series of molecular descriptors. Chemometrics is also used.
