A concise reference to the Metric System (SI) (David Bartlett) In addition to the tables of prefixes and derived units, this page includes a brief history of the SI system and the physical basis for the base units. It also includes tips on correct usage of the SI (e. g. a billion in the US is not the same as a billion in the UK!) http://subnet.virtual-pc.com/ba424872/Metric.html Conversion Factor Calculator (Process Associates of America) Unit conversion calculators for many different fundamental physical quantities. http://www.ProcessAssociates.com/process/convert/cf_all.htm Dictionary of Measures, Units, and Conversions (Frank Tappan, University of Exeter) This dictionary includes most units in common use, along with SI conversions. Units are listed both by category (length, energy, pressure, etc.) and alphabetically. The dictionary includes historical notes, descriptions of the metric system, the U K (Imperial) system with a statement on the implementation of 'metrication' in the U K, and the U S system. http://www.ex.ac.uk/cimt/dictunit/dictunit.htm

A professional staff, state-of-the-art equipment, and world-class facilities all come together at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to solve organic analytical chemistry problems. The Advanced Organic Analytical Methods Group has consistently supplied effective solutions for real-world problems. Our success, in part, comes from the range of skills and expertise including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, chemical engineering, and forensic sciences within the group. The Advanced Organic Analytical Methods Group is part of a large multi-program laboratory with a staff totaling about 3,500. This allows the group access to a wide variety of expertise in many scientific fields. The total resources of the lab can be brought to bear on any research or engineering problem. In addition to internal teamwork, the staff have established working relationships with other national laboratories, research facilities, and academic institutions. We can assemble the necessary expertise to meet any challenge. Contact: Steve Goheen
