The Young Family The Young Family has been, by and large, an agrarian farming family until the 20 th century. The biggest claim to fame (not very big however) was the selection of Abraham and William Young's land by George Washington in 1791 as part of the country's new capital, Washington, DC. Their land included what is now the Congressional Cemetery and additional lands north and east to about halfway to the present site of the Capital building. Elizabeth (Young) Wheeler, their sister, operated a ferry across the Anacostia River with her husband Aquila Wheeler. During the War of 1812, Elizabeth's home was used as the headquarters for the British. William Young came to America prior to 1696 from the Sherrifdom of Dumfries in Scotland. The Youngs moved to Prince George's County from St Mary's County, MD in 1696 when they acquired two plantations, Thorpland and Perry Hills. In 1731 William bought the plantations Knock and Meury which were on the eastern branch of the Potomac (Anacostia River). In the years following the sale of their farms, the children dispersed. Samuel Wade Young, the son of Abraham moved to Loudoun County, VA in 1803 and his son, Thomas Jefferson Young, moved to Adams County, OH in 1843. Thomas' son, Thomas Heaton Young, moved to Highland County. The family stayed in that area until the 1940's. I was born in Highland County, but have lived in various parts of the country since I was 8 years old.

It went through the power supply and fryed my processor. Fortunately we had one month left on a extended 2 year gurantee and most of the computer was replaced including a new processor and case. About the only original parts was the drives! Earlier this year, I left my PC on overnight and in the morning it had both lights "on" on the front, but it was dead. I tried to restart it and unplug and plug it in again but it would not start! We took it to get repaired and they thought a capaciter had blown in the Power Supply Unit (PSU) and it was replaced and working again! Yesterday when I woke up the same thing had happened again! The lights were on but no one was home! grrr! I don't get how its lost power again and its connected through a brand new surge protector! The psu is still under guantee, but the repair place is about 50 minutes away and don't want to lose the computer for a week or let them see my porn! I have brought a new Power Supply Unit by the net and waiting for it to arrive and hopefully l will be able to fit it myself!

Young joined NASA's astronaut corps in 1962 and is the first person to fly into space six times from Earth, and, in addition, have one lunar liftoff. His first flight was the Gemini 3 mission with Gus Grissom, a complete end-to-end test of the Gemini spacecraft during which he operated the first computer on a manned spacecraft. On the Gemini 10 mission, Mr. Young served as commander for the completion of a dual rendezvous with two separate Agena target vehicles. He then became the Command Module pilot for Apollo 10, orbiting the moon, completing a lunar rendezvous, and tracking proposed lunar landing sites. His fourth mission, Apollo 16, was a lunar exploration mission in which Young served as Spacecraft Commander. He and Charlie Duke set up scientific equipment and explored the lunar highlands at Descartes. They collected almost 200 pounds of rocks and drove over 16 miles in the lunar rover during their three separate geology traverses.
