May 26, 2004 shrek two Anne and I took the kids to see Shrek 2 at Arclight last night (holy cow, man. I have 3100 member points now!) I have to be honest: I loved the first Shrek, but I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this sequel. I was mostly going because I love to do things as a family, and I can't pass up a chance go take the kids out of suburbia and into the real world. So I was just hoping that the movie didn't annoy me . . . and I ended up loving it. I give it 4.5 stars on my 5 star scale. (It loses half a star because it uses too many musical montages . . . but the story is hilarious once it takes off, and there were so many brilliant "throw away" jokes, I lost count.) There's nothing better than sitting between two kids who are convulsing with laughter. While we were there, I saw posters for the Bukowski movie . . . wow. I can't wait to see that, man! Life of Brian is also playing there . . . so I may end up cashing in some most of those member points pretty damn soon. Portrays Wesley Crusher Wil Wheaton became the first teenager to be cast in a permanent role on Star Trek when, as a 16-year-old, he got the part of Wesley Crusher . Already a big Star Trek fan when he auditioned for Wesley, Wil was thrilled when his agent called to tell him the news. About his character, Wil commented, "Wesley is smart. He's not your typical wisecracking 16-year-old. He inherited the genius of his mother ( Dr. Beverly Crusher ) and his father, who was a Starfleet commander." Wil says that the best thing about his character is that "Wesley" is not treated like a child. "At first I thought, OK, but I hope it isn't, kid gets in trouble, crew gets kid out of trouble. But it's not like that at all. 'Wesley' is almost an equal with the rest of the crew. He knows the Enterprise inside and out, backwards and forwards. The ship's operations manual is like his bible, and his big goal is to get on the bridge and control the ship."

Interview with Wil Wheaton
by Lando da Pimp MillionairePlayboy.com How did you first get your start in acting? Wil Wheaton : It runs in my family, all the way back to when the Wheatons were pig-chasing potato-chuckers back in Scotland, in the year 9 [ Ed note : ]. In a more direct way, it's my mom's fault. She was doing commercials when I was a kid, and took me with her on an audition. They were casting for mothers and sons, so they asked me if I would try out. I was 7, and far too agreeable to everything, so I said yes, got the job, and never looked back. Not even when that train was chasing me. MillionairePlayboy.com As an actor, who do you look up to? Who influences you the most? Wil Wheaton Ed Norton, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are all admired by me. They are fantastic actors, who always make the most of their roles. Of course, it doesn't hurt that they get the best written roles, but I've seen lousy actors screw up the best writing (first hand, even: Rutger Haue absolutely butchered Roger Avary's brilliant Mr. Stitch

Surprisingly intelligent and poignant website, he is definately not the character Wesley from Star Trek.
Wil is currently a writer and performer with the ACME Comedy Theatre, and was recently called "rather remarkable" by the LA Weekly. Upcoming roles include the romantic lead in the dark comedy "Jane White is Sick and Twisted" and a guest starring lead on PAX TV's "Twice In A Lifetime".

Cellblock 1138 Know Thy Enemy An Interview with Wesley Crusher's Alter Ego, Wil Wheaton Strip by Ben Classen - www.bendependent.com In the first of a series of interviews with sci-fi personalities not of the Lucas influence, Chris Hanel takes on the character Star Wars fans love to hate - Wesley Crusher Studies have shown that people have a definite problem separating actors from the characters they portray in films and television. Of course, the common person doesn't need a study to know that. Watch Galaxyquest and the pain on Alan Rickman's face as geeks approach him shouting, "By Grapthar's hammer, I will avenge you!" and you will know what that pain is. But it can become worse, especially when the character is not well-liked by the general public. Andrew Robinson, who was the actor who played the Scorpio Killer in Dirty Harry, received death threats after his portrayal and had to get an unlisted phone number.

    An Interview with Wil Wheaton
    by Trisha L. Sebastian
"As I get closer, I see Kate Mulgrew talking with William Shatner. They share a laugh. "My stomach tightens a bit, and I get a little nervous. William Shatner, the one and only Captain James T. Kirk, has treated me like crap as long as I've known him." Dancing Barefoot For years, he was reviled and hated by Star Trek fans because he dared to be the youngest person to ever fly the Enterprise. But now, at the age of 31, Wil Wheaton has managed to transcend his past as a child star and teen idol from such projects as Stand by Me and Star Trek: The Next Generation to become a devoted husband and stepfather of two, a comedy writer, a voice actor and most importantly a published author and full-fledged Internet celebrity via his weblog at WWdN (which stands for "Wil Wheaton dot net"). Wheaton's first book called Dancing Barefoot contains five short essays that were culled from the larger memoir Just a Geek , coming from this June. In the first part of this three-hour long interview, I got a chance to talk to Wil about his days as an actor, his writing influences and what Wesley Crusher really thinks of Deanna Troi. Sequential Tart: I've got three pages of questions; let's see how many we can get through.

    Those Silly Automatic Doors
by wikki on 07:36 AM October 15th, 2001 When you were on the set of TNG did you ever find yourself running into the automatic doors when there was no one there to open them for you? How about at your house or other places? Was this a problem for any of the other cast members? Did you ever find yourself going to grocery stores and running in and out of the doors just to make you feel better? This happened all the time. We'd get so used to those doors opening when we approached them, that we'd keep going right into them if they didn't. It was very embarrassing when I'd be taking some friends on a tour of the sets, and I'd expect the doors to open, and they wouldn't. Sometimes it would happen during work, because the FX guys wouldn't get their cue, or someone would decide to enter a scene early. One time, Jonathan was in the turbolift on the bridge, and decided that he'd come into the scene a little bit earlier than we'd rehearsed. So I'm sitting in my chair, Patrick is going on and on about the Prime Directive or something, and there is this loud

    By Brian Briggs
Real interviews with real people. Unlike the rest of BBspot there's nothing made up here. I know it's a difficult transition but I'm not fooling. We did email these questions and these were the responses. In the first of what will be a continuing series, Wil Wheaton of Star Trek: The Next Generation Stand By Me and Python fame subjects himself to 11 questions from BBspot. Enjoy! BBspot (1): All the geeks want to know, what kind of computer system you have and what games do you play on it? Processor? OS? Details please. The Wil Machine Wil: Oh boy. Well, all the geeks are going to rejoice when they hear that the box they use for target practice is probably superior to mine. My computer was built from zero by me and my friend. It's a Pentium 2, 128 megs of ram, uh...I have some kind of swell video card that does all those 3DFX things, and a crappy soundblaster sound card. My brother and I just crammed a bunch of big hard drives into the case, and put in a new CD-ROM drive, so we're completely out of space inside. Tell you what, if I ever find Gordon Moore, I'm gonna kick him in the neck.
