Assistant Professor Ph.D., Ohio University w r. Scott held various engineering design and management positions at Allison Gas Turbine, and GMC, during a 28-year period prior to joining Ohio University in 1993. His responsibilities included management of engine/airframe integration; management of the research, analysis, and application of digital controls to gas turbine engines; and design development of internal flow systems using analytical and experimental techniques. Concurrent with his industrial experience, Mr. Scott taught for 10 years in the Manufacturing Technology Department at Purdue University, Indianapolis. Courses taught included Thermodynamics, Dynamics, Heat and Power, and Introduction to Engineering Technology. Areas of professional interest include metal fabrication, industrial power systems, control systems, digital electronics, and robotics. Mr. Scott holds a U.S. patent (see below) and has written numerous technical proposals and contractual summary reports. Mr. Scott has expertise in the area of control systems for industrial application, including processing, conveyer systems, work cells, and PLC related interfaces. He's also a co-captain on the Cardinals' soccer team and earned All-Region honors as a punter and kicker with the football team. The president of National Honor Society, Thomas ranks number one in the senior class with a 4.52 GPA. He scored 1500 on hs SAT, including a perfect 800 on the verbal section. Thomas has already been accepted to the USC honors college, but he is also considering Prineton, Duke, Virginia and Notre Dame. He says he'll study government with an eye on pursuing a career in politics or journalism. GPA – 4.52
