Home Black Hawk Down di R.Scott con Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Sam Shepard spoiler alert: level 1 DA TENERE: Solo le classiche note tecniche di cui sopra e forse l'intenzione di raccontare un fatto realmente accaduto, pur se sotto un punto di vista inevitabilmente di parte. Fine. Anzi, "this is the end...". DA BUTTARE: Ora ho capito: Ridley Scott voleva dimostrare che sa pisciare più lungo di Steven Spielberg! Nel film "Salvate il soldato Ryan" Spielberg ha girato la straordinaria sequenza di battaglia iniziale di venti minuti? "Benissimo -avrà pensato Scott- ed io la dilato fino a farci un film di due ore e venti!". NOTA DI MERITO: Non sapete come convincere le vostre ragazze ad accompagnarvi a vedere questo filmaccio di guerra? Dite loro che è pieno zeppo di figaccioni (un critico americano ha detto che sembra il catalogo di "Uomo Vogue")! Almeno loro si rifaranno gli occhi... NOTA DI DEMERITO: Nel pieno della battaglia (cioè una parte qualsiasi della pellicola) un soldato, dopo un'esplosione, non ha più il corpo dalla cinta in giù, è completamente maciullato e gli manca pure un braccio, ma trova la forza di sussurrare ad un suo compagno "Dite alle mie figlie che sto bene...". E muore. Cioè la fine che dovrebbe fare lo sceneggiatore idiota che nel 2002 ha ancora il coraggio di scrivere battute come questa. E purtroppo non è la sola nel film... Che noia che barba, che barba che noia...

World wine web The Guardian Front page Story index Scott's corner Sunday January 6, 2002 The Observer The Mogadishu incident was seen at the time as one of the most embarrassing and disastrous episodes of American foreign intervention, and the reason they were so keen to stay out of any subsequent foreign conflict. But Scott's film is entirely concerned with the firefight and not with its causes or consequences. For an interesting sidelight on the affair, I recommend John Simpson's A Mad World, My Masters which suggests that one of the reasons the American plan failed so badly was that General Aidid's son was one of the US Marines. He had grown up in America, and was chosen to go to Somalia because he spoke Somali, nobody apparently noticing or querying the coincidence of his having the same surname as the enemy. Now that would have made an interesting film - the torn loyalties of a boy raised in America and sent with his American buddies to bomb his old dad in Somalia - but it is not the film Ridley Scott made.
