The confluence of the Little Iowa and Upper Iowa Rivers, which occur here, provide water recreation. In addition, visitors swim, boat, or fish in Lake Louise. Hiking and horseback riding are also popular sports at this park. The lakeside picnic grounds and beach area draws visitors in the summer. Tell me more about this park's wildlife, history, geology and landscape.

CATEGORIES OF SWINGIN' CHICK: TV Star, Model, and Movie Star BIRTH: She was born February 11th of '34, making her over thirty as a castaway. Her exotic birthplace: New York City. Her moniker at birth: Tina Blacker. IMPACT ON THE '60s: Few of our Swingin' Chicks of the '60s have tried to separate themselves from their '60s pasts as much as Tina Louise has. At times it's seemed like she's almost embarrassed about the cult stardom that has lingered from her role as Ginger Grant on "Gilligan's Island" in the mid-'60s. Even in the '60s she seemed to see the show for the lightweight froth that it was. When it debuted, critics roasted it: the L.A. Times

The Divine One
This is my cat Punkie Louise. Yeah, my cat is special. Isn't everyone's cat "special"? Punkie is 16 years old. She's very particular about who she likes; generally she doesn't like much of anybody. Only a select few people have made it past her criterion. She's very verbal, sometimes annoyingly so. She's my buddy and I would like to say that she listens to me when I need an ear, but she doesn't.
January 1996:
Punkie is currently undergoing chemotherapy. She was diagnosed with Intestinal Lymphosarcoma. She had been vomiting, with much pain, and had stopped eating. The disease came on very suddenly and without warning. This cancer is, apparently, considered treatable. Not curable, treatable. She is currently taking prednazone each day and cytoxan every third day. She goes into the vet for further chemo each Wednesday. Although the vets that I take her to have been wonderful, it is still pretty awful. She's responded very well to the surgery (they removed an egg-sized malignant tumor) and to the treatments. But she still has only a limited survival time overall. Because she's been an indoor kitty, dragging her weekly to the vet is upsetting to both of us. Knowing that I'm giving her poison is also upsetting. Loosing her would be worse. My friend Greg helped me with my perspective on the whole thing; he said that as long as she appears happy and active that she should continue to enjoy life. When she loses that, it's time to let her go.

The Complicated Life of Louise Erdrich
With a new book, a new baby and a new business, she's not giving history the time to catch up
by Karen Olson

In the past year alone, Louise Erdrich completed one novel, nearly finished another, opened a bookstore and, at forty-six, gave birth to a daughter named Azure. When Erdrich walks into her Minneapolis store, Birch Bark Books, Herbs and Native Arts, she is juggling an armful of paper and books and passing out chocolate tins with pictures of Elvis Presley and the cartoon character Pepe Le Pew on top. She adjusts Azure, who's ready to be fed. "Overdoing it is my motto," she announces. "I'm one of those overdoing-it mothers."
Love Medicine The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse . Lyrically reflective, wittily refracted and adeptly sensual, the story centers on Agnes DeWitt, who, because of a series of passions and events, lives most of her life as Father Damien Modeste, a mission priest on an Indian reservation between 1912 and 1996. The Last Report
"Maybe when I'm eighty, I'll start being a person who will choose the less complex of the choices, and life will be manageable," Erdrich says. "But I don't do that. I have an overwhelming

biography
Born Tina Blacker in New York City in 1934, gorgeous Tina Louise has worked as a model, singer, and actress during her lengthy career. At 17, she made her acting debut in summer stock, and then quickly moved to Broadway, taking small roles. She was also once a featured singer at Ciro's, the infamous Hollywood nightclub. As her aspirations became more focused on acting, Louise enrolled in Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio. Her big break came in a January 1956 appearance on the hour-long dramatic anthology television series Studio One
Promotional photo from Tina Louise's 1957 appearance on Climax!
She also landed a spot on Jan Murray Time as a singer. She followed this up with more guest appearances on Studio One Climax! , and Joe and Mabel , meanwhile still taking roles on Broadway. With her success in the Broadway production of Li'l Abner (cast as "Apassionata Von Climax") beginning in 1956, Louise made her way to Hollywood.
