    THE LITTLE HOUSE
Foolish Tootles was standing like a conqueror over Wendy's body when the other boys sprang, armed, from their trees.
"You are too late," he cried proudly, "I have shot the Wendy. Peter will be so pleased with me."
Overhead Tinker Bell shouted "Silly ass!" and darted into hiding. The others did not hear her. They had crowded round Wendy, and as they looked a terrible silence fell upon the wood. If Wendy's heart had been beating they would all have heard it.
Slightly was the first to speak. "This is no bird," he said in a scared voice. "I think this must be a lady."
"A lady?" said Tootles, and fell a-trembling.
"And we have killed her," Nibs said hoarsely.
They all whipped off their caps.
"Now I see," Curly said: "Peter was bringing her to us." He threw himself sorrowfully on the ground.
"A lady to take care of us at last," said one of the twins, "and you have killed her!" They were sorry for him, but sorrier for themselves, and when he took a step nearer them they turned from him. Tootles' face was very white, but there was a dignity about him now that had never been there before.

    WHEN WENDY GREW UP
I hope you want to know what became of the other boys. They were waiting below to give Wendy time to explain about them; and when they had counted five hundred they went up. They went up by the stair, because they thought this would make a better impression. They stood in a row in front of Mrs. Darling, with their hats off, and wishing they were not wearing their pirate clothes. They said nothing, but their eyes asked her to have them. They ought to have looked at Mr. Darling also, but they forgot about him.
Of course Mrs. Darling said at once that she would have them; but Mr. Darling was curiously depressed, and they saw that he considered six a rather large number.
"I must say, he said to Wendy, "that you don't do things by halves." a grudging remark which the twins thought was pointed at them.
The first twin was the proud one, and he asked, flushing, "Do you think we should be too much of a handful, sir? Because, if so, we can go away."
"Father!" Wendy cried, shocked; but still the cloud was on him. He knew he was behaving unworthily, but he could not help it.

    Sir James Matthew Barrie
    (1860 - 1937) Scotland
Playwright, novelist Sir James M. Barrie was a gay author, born in Kirriemuir, Angus. Barrie attended Edinburgh University, then he entered journalism in Nottingham in 1883, but lost his job after writing a piece extolling the delights of "Pretty Boys". Thus, settled in London in 1885. He became known by his sudies of Scottish rural life. He was made a baronett in 1913 abd received the Order of Merit in 1922. He wrote the children's classic Peter Pan . Barrie's marriage was never consumated... "but, then, Barrie never consumated any relationship with anyone, including his strange friendship with the three Davies boys." As their father died he became a surrogate father, and after their mother died he effectively adopted the boys. Further tragedy followed - his beloved George Davies, only five years old when they first met, and the great love of Barrie's life, was killed in action at Flanders in 1915, and his adored Michael drowned with an Oxford friend while swimming in the Thames.

PETER PAN AND CAPTAIN HOOK SEEN DUELING IN THE ECCLE’S PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AT SNOW
EPHRAIM, Utah—September 29, 2003— Snow College today announced it will present Peter Pan in the new George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Performing Arts Center October 7, 8, 9, 11 and 13, 14 and 15. Peter Pan is the first theatrical production in the Eccles Performing Arts Center located on Center Street between the library and football field on Snow’s Ephraim campus. Tickets are on sale for $7 (adults) and $6.50 (seniors and children) and may be purchased at the theatre box office or by calling Barbara Justesen at (435) 283-7411. Snow College students are admitted free with their activity card. Written by Sir James M. Barrie, Peter Pan was first produced on Broadway with Mary Martin and more recently became a major hit with Cathy Rigby starring as Peter Pan. The production features the charm of Peter, Tinker Bell and the children, and the pirates and Indians of Never Never Land all embellished with show stopping songs. Snow’s production features a large cast of students and a number of children from Sanpete County. A young woman often performs the role of Peter Pan and Snow’s production follows suit. Holly Harris will play Pan and Scott Bahlman will play Captain Hook. Emily Perkins, Christian Halling and Casey Lamb will play Wendy, John and Michael respectively. Chris Cook will play Hook’s sidekick Smee. Directing the show is Dr. Kim Christison, dean of Snow’s performing arts division.
