He reveals himself, and the woman (an onnagato, of course) is touched. Her husband appears and, also moved by the fox's love for his parents, gives him the drum. At which, the fox goes through some incredible acrobatics and winds up flying very very high over the stage and the audience, transported by regaining the presence of his parents.
