Comparisons of various energy sources As the world's population increases and there is continued comparison to the current western European, Japanese, and North American living standards, there is likely to be demand for more electrical power. Energy sources available in the world include coal, nuclear, hydroelectric, gas, wind, solar, refuse-based, and biomass. In addition, fusion had been originally proposed as the long-term source. Every form of energy generation has advantages and disadvantages as shown in the table below Source Advantages Disadvantages Coal
  • Inexpensive Easy to recover (in U.S. and Russia) Requires expensive air pollution controls (e.g. mercury, sulfur dioxide) Significant contributor to acid rain and global warming Requires extensive transportation system
Nuclear
  • Fuel is inexpensive Energy generation is the most concentrated source Waste is more compact than any source Extensive scientific basis for the cycle Easy to transport as new fuel No greenhouse or acid rain effects Requires larger capital cost because of emergency, containment, radioactive waste and storage systems

be liberal in what you accept from others." Jon Postel's Robustness principle This page is devoted to the Orthodox File Managers (OFMs) that are also known as "Commanders". Members of this family of file managers use interface that is derivative of Norton Commander(NC) interface. I introduced the term "Orthodox File Managers" in 1996 with the first edition of my online book and now it seems to be more or less standard term for this category of file managers. There are numerous advantages of Orthodox File Manager (OFM) paradigm, which refines the functionality of the original Norton Commander for DOS and incorporates almost 20 years of development of this category of filemanager. All OFMs have a main window that is divided into three sub-windows. Two of them are called "panels" that are identical in structure (but can have different sizes), and are positioned side by side. The third screen-wide window contains just a command line, and is positioned at the bottom of the screen. The author argues that this approach offers the most efficient way to perform complex file operations, and both users and open/closes source developers

The Various Possible Methods of Pyramid Construction A major problem facing the builders of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids, was that of getting the Large stone blocks to the height they required. the method shown at left, is the only one proven to have been used. The ramps were built on inclined planes of mud brick and rubble. They then dragged the blocks on sledges to the needed height. As the pyramid grew taller, the ramp had to be extended in length, and its base was widened, else it would collapse. It is likely that for the construction of each pyramid, several ramps were probably used. The arrangement of the ramps used for building is in much dispute. Assuming that the step pyramid was built before the outer structure, and then the packing blocks were laid on top, the ramps could have run from one step to another rather than approaching the pyramid face at right angles Some of the pyramids indicate an accurate understanding of Pi, but the mathematical knowledge of the Egyptians did not include the ability to arrive at this by calculation. It is possible that this could have been arrived at "accidentally" through a means such as counting the revolutions of a drum.

This section compares and contrasts the three main beliefs about origins: Naturalistic Evolution, Creation Science, and Theistic Evolution
Overview:
The media delight in talking about the warfare between evolution and creation science. However, there are not just two conflicting belief systems concerning the origin of plants, animals, humans, the rest of the world and the rest of the universe. There are literally many hundreds of theories: Hundreds of religious views: According David Barrett et al, editors of the " World Christian Encyclopedia " there are 19 major world religions which are subdivided into a total of 270 large religious groups, and many thousands of smaller ones. Among these various faith groups, there are probably at least 500 different creation stories to draw from all different. Creation science: This is a group of about a dozen different belief system which form some of the approximately 500 religious belief systems described above. They are very popular among conservative Christians. They can be divided into two different groups: New Earth creationists form the majority of creation scientists. They believe that the earth, its current life forms, and the rest of the universe were created by God, less than 10,000 years ago. Only very minor changes within various species have happened since creation; no new species have evolved or been created. This belief system is mainly promoted by people who believe in the

Reproductive Endocrinologist (May also be Reproductive Surgeon): It is recommended that a board-approved M.D. who has completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology direct the follicular recruitment phase of any ART cycle. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommends that each physician supervise a minimum of 20 follicular recruitment cycles per year. Additionally, it is critical that there be access to a Reproductive Surgeon specializing in treating obstructions, endometriosis, uterine abnormalities and other reproductive organ disorders which require surgical repair and use of laporoscopic microsurgery techniques. Initial Diagnosis IVF GIFT ZIFT FET ICSI Critical for female diagnosis and surgical repair of reproductive organ disorders. Critical Critical Critical Critical Reproductive Immunologist: Clinics should have access to the services of a Reproductive Immunologist for patients who have suspected immunological barriers to achieving pregnancy. Autoimmune factors include lupus-like anticoagulant antibodies, antiphospholipid antibodies, antithyroid antibodies and low levels of leukocyte antibodies. Alloimmune factors include elevated levels of natural killer cells, embryotoxity and low levels of leukocyte antibodies. Much of the testing for these diagnoses is not available in standard labs, hence the importance of affiliation with a facility which has both an RI and testing capabilities.

The Hail Mary in Various Languages
This feature shows how international and widespread Mary's name and devotion have become over time. There are more than 150 known language versions of the Hail Mary . Thanks to the efforts of David G. Landsnes, M.D., indefatigable researcher of the angel's salutation, the Marian Library is able to offer many examples of the languages in which this most popular of all Marian prayers is said. At the heart of Christian prayer is the name of Jesus. There is no liturgical prayer that does not conclude with a reference to Our Lord. The Hail Mary reaches its high point in the words "blessed is the fruit of your/thy womb, Jesus." We detect two movements in this prayer which alternate with one another. The first part magnifies in fact the Lord for the great things he did for his "lowly servant," whereas the second part entrusts the supplications and praises of the children of God to the Mother of Jesus. The new Catechism of the Catholic Church has a wonderful page on the meaning of the Hail Mary (see CCC 2676-2677). Mary is the perfect figure of prayer (Orans). "When we pray to her says the

Women's History Sourcebook "Yes, I am fond of history."
"I wish I were too. I read it a little as a duty, but it tells me nothing that does not either vex or weary me. The quarrels of popes and kings, with wars or pestilences, in every page; the men all so good for nothing, and hardly any women at all it is very tiresome:"
Catherine Morland, in Northhangar Abbey
by Jane Austen How are historians to remedy the silence about women in many traditional accounts of history? This question has received a number of distinct answers. The first solution was to locate the great women of the past, following the lead of much popular historiography that focuses on "great men". The problem here is that just as the "great men" approach to history sidelines and ignores the lives of the mass of people, focusing on great women merely replicates the exclusionary historical approaches of the past. The next solution was to examine and expose the history of oppression of women. This approach had the merit of addressing the life histories of the mass of women, but, since it has proved to be possible to find some degree of oppression everywhere, it tended to make women merely subjects of forces that they could not control. On the other hand, historians' focus on oppression revealed that investigating the

MonsterList Of Links to Halloween Do-It-Yourself Projects
The Monsterlist is the most complete collection of links to home pages with do-it-yourself projects on them that I have ever seen. These are not your little kids Halloween crafts, every scary devious seriously spooky prop and project designed for scaring people is listed here. Most importantly, the list is checked periodically for accuracy. This is not an all-inclusive list of everything Halloween, the Monsterlist has no popups or sponsors, it is a volunteer site and will stay that way, it is not a index of professionals pushing their wares. It is simply a gathering place of projects and ideas that people who build their own Halloween props can use. Usually I have linked to the project page itself however I recommend browsing from there to the owners main Halloween page, there is usually plenty of interesting Halloween information. All links individually validated. Items grayed out indicate they were not available as of the last time I checked them, but I haven't given up on them..the link may or may not work at the time you try it.
