El seu raonament era ben estrany: "I have eliminated as many redundancies as possible, both to make the book more readable and in the belief that Martorell might have done the same, had he lived to complete his project" (Es sabut que el llibre fou acabat per Martí de Galba).

MT. ZION CEMETERY
(Duncan Road) Compiled and contributed by David Donahue This cemetery is located at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Duncan Road. It occupies a hilly site not very suitable for a cemetery. The area within the 1989 limits of the cemetery was full when the cemetery was visited that year. When visited in 1997, additional areas on the eastern and northern edges of the cemetery were cleared, though no burials had taken place in these areas. The cemetery receives fair maintenance. This cemetery was recorded March 25, 1989, was checked October 4, 1989, and was revisited January 20, 1997. Badgett, Malvina [see Duncan, Malvina Badgett] Ballard, Cora A. Renovation of S/S Robert June 2003
A lot of work has been done on board since last summer. The steering system with its rudder horn has been permanently installed as it proved to function very well. All the gates have safety locks that prevent them from opening accidently. The model of the locks is copied from an old railway carriage that we found at the narrow gauge railway in Mariefred. We have also spent quite some time planning for all the armatures. The machine room is very small so the challange is to place the armatures in the right place. Olle has built a pipe for the bottom outlet. It is important to use it frequently in order to get rid of mud that collects in the bottom of the boiler. We have also dismounted a flange on the bottom side of the boiler. Unfortunately, but not unexpectingly, three out of four pin bolts broke as they were severely rusted. After some struggle we managed to remove the rest of the bolts without damaging the threads. Phew!! :-) All gaskets on the machine have to be replaced. The covers for the valve chests are already mounted and the covers of the cylinders are next in turn. Testmounting of the lubricators. We would like to try to find a way to operate them from a common slewing bracket. The tallow cocks are already in place. One of them had a crack in it and has been soldered. We plan to turn new wooden handles for them.

The Book Store Voyage of Reprisal Kevin Glynn Format ISBN Price Electronic Book Paperback (6x9) About the Book
The year is 1585. Newly Protestant England stands alone against the world-girdling Spanish Empire of a Catholic zealot, King Philip II, bent on stamping out the heresy that has taken root in Northern Europe and the British Isles. A veteran Spanish army of occupation stands astride a rebellious, Protestant, Netherlands; like a dagger aimed across the Dover Strait at England. From Spain’s expansive but loosely-held American Empire, a hoard of silver is being assembled for transport across the Atlantic to fill Philip’s coffers and finance a mighty Armada to carry that army across to England. Only a defiant woman, Queen Elizabeth Tudor, wielding power like a fox, and her "sea dog" ship-captains aboard formidable English galleons, stand between Philip and his dream of world hegemony. Robert Lawton is a young but seasoned shipmaster recently returned to London from a trading voyage to Spain, where Spanish officials and the dreaded Inquisition had attacked his men and stolen his cargo. Never keen on leading the life of a corsair, Lawton is nonetheless drawn into a "reprisal venture" led by an old family friend, the hardened sea dog Richard Hawthorne. Hawthorne has assembled a force of English galleons under a secret Queen’s commission to plunder King Philip’s annual treasure fleet before it links up with the fearsome war galleons of the Spanish Averia

and flames, and they loaded all the ships with the many riches they had taken. TheWhite Knight Tirant To Blanc written and copyrighted by Robert S. Rudder.
    http://www.turkishforum.com/cyprus/

One of the gravest case of human rights violations in the history of humanity had been experienced in Cyprus the period of 1963-1974, during which thousands of Turkish Cypriots were forced to flee their homes at Greek Cypriot gunpoint, hundreds killed or maimed. At times, babies and infants were rendered without milk and basic food, and without proper shelter. On December 21, 1963, the Greek Cypriots, acting in accordance with the secret Akritas Plan (The full text of the Akritas Plan has been published as a UN Document A/33/115, s/12722 of 30 May 1978) attacked the Turkish Cypriots all over the island, destroyed the bicommunal Republic of Cyprus created in 1960 under the London and Zurich Agreements, and usurping the powers of the State, turned Cyprus, unconstitutionally, into a Greek-Cypriot state. The Turkish Cypriot enclaves were besieged and subjected to a war of attrition. Turkey several times warned and called the world powers to intervene and only at a limited scope to intervene a Turkish millitary action. But when the contents of the interventions by the UN was of such little result and ethnic cleansing continued increasingly towards 1974. This illegal state of affairs continued until July 20, 1974 when the Turkish intervention, undertaken in discharge of the obligation and right emanating from the 1960 treaty of Guarantee, ended the racial attacks and prevented the annexation of the island by Greece. Innocent mother and her children slaughtered by fanatic Greeks in 1974. The Turkish intervention was not soon enough to stop this massacre but put an end to many others.

At the conclusion, she steamed to Norfolk, Virginia, to join CORT DIV 58-a unit of Task Force 65 which was due to escort Convoy UGS-37 to Bizerte, Tunisia. Capt. W. R. Headden, commander of Task Force 65, carried his flag aboard the escort USS Stanton [DE-247]. CORT DIV 58, under the command of Cdr. E. E. Another unit of Task Force 65 was DES DIV 66, under the command of Cdr. A. M. The Royal Navy’s HMS Delhi [AA cruiser], HMS Jonquil [corvette], HMS Nadder [frigate], HMS Mindful [rescue tug] , and the HMS Vagrant [ rescue tug] would later round out the escort screen. Sixty merchant vessels and several landing ship tanks [USS LST-76, USS LST-77, USS LST-211, USS LST-212, and USS LST-539] made up the convoy. While naval vessels, the LST’s were quite slow [10.8 knots max] and needed protection.

The Black Pearl is gone and unless you have a rudder and a lot of sails hidden in that bodice, unlikely, young Mr. Turner will be dead long before you can reach him. Last time....I was here a grand total of three days alright?....Last time..the rumrunners used this island as a cache, came by and i was able to barter a passage off. From the looks of things they've long been out of bussiness, probably have your bloody friend Norrington to thank for that. Welcome to the caribbean love. I love this song! Really bad eggs! Woo. [falls] When I get the Pearl back, I’m gonna teach it to the whole crew and we’ll sing it all the time! Not just the spanish mane love, the entire oceon, the entire wo'ld, whereever we want to go, we'll go thats what a ship is you know, its not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails thats what a ship needs but what a ship is, what the black pearl really is, is freedom. Oh, yes. But the company is infinitely better than last time, I think. And the…the scenery has definitely improved.
