  • Next message: Rodrigo Barbosa: "Re: California State Bill SB1386" Unfortunately, as with many laws, it will probably take a tort to bring this issue to judicial litigation where it will then be addressed, potentially appealed, possibly supremed, and finally referred back to the legislative body to clarify exactly what they meant by "encrypted," and then the task will be to craft a living definition that doesn't expire with the advance of algorithms and technology that compromises current existing encryption. Does anyone trust DES to secure their private data these days? Mark "Give credit where credit is due; from all others, get change." -Original Message- From: Steve Zenone [mailto: zenone@cats.ucsc.edu

mechanics was a new branch of physics. I feel confident about the
    statement for the following reasons:
    1) Over a decade before Drexler began his strong arguements,
Feynman proclaimed that same possibility in his concise speach,
pointing out how the laws of phyics do not forbid chemistry on
a single molecule level - but that its only our clumbsy size that made
it impractical at that time. Feynman gave appropriate credit to
the remarkable things chemists could do, and proposed a more
realistic approach than Drexler, of simply using an electron

Calling the men together at DeWitt's tavern in Gonzales, he delivered a short speech setting forth in stirring words the complications of troubles that threatened our Republic, finally closing with a rousing appeal to every Texan to be loyal and true in that hour of need and peril. I yet consider him about the finest looking man I ever saw, as he stood over six feet tall, in the very prime of mature manhood." Houston didn't have to wait long for news from San Antonio. Henry Karnes came galloping into town with news from Deaf Smith stating that they had met Susannah Dickinson with her daughter on the road from San Antonio with the news of the fall of the Alamo.
