Recent Information: Linda: Linda recently moved from Brazil to New York city and is now the regional sales manager for the East Coast. She is still working with those hands free headsets for mobile phones and has been with JABRA Corporation for over 3 years now. She is looking forward to this Christmas Season because she gets to sell the new Bluetooth headset that has no wires on it so I guess she can walk around the house without her cellular phone and still keep chattting away. It looks like NY has been a good experience for her in the last 12 weeks that she has been there. She found a new roommate who is a beauty editor, moved into an apartment on the 15th floor with a view of the Hudson River, went to the US Open, has had multiple visitors, has explored many of the resturants on the Upper West Side and is still trying to figure out the train, subway and bus systems.

Happy Laugh by Jeremy Hubert EARLY PRESS REVIEWS: "'Stevie Guitar' proves his nickname is no fluke, [but] the big surprise here is Sparks' material. [The] treatments throughout are sly and funny, playfully arranged, and backed by marvelous guitar licks. He also plays piano and keyboards and sings lead in a clear, pleasing tenor with an ironic smile at the edges. ...Making their presence joyously felt are female backup singers The Leisurettes... Paul Marchetti's crisp, crashy drumming proves essential... Gene Argel rocks out memorably on Hammond B-3 organ... and saxophonists Miguel Maldonado and Rudy Esquer add professional sinew to several numbers. In the end, Flight Of The Magic Tortoise will leave you dancing and smiling."

Sparks attained concert and recording status as a guitarist/lead vocalist in Washington D.C. & Hollywood in the late '60's. He has also worked as a drummer with a number of bands including Maui's legendary Space Patrol in the 1970s. In the 1980s he worked as bassist for the great Ian Tyson. And he has been House Pianist in world-class resort hotels such as The Kapalua Bay in Hawaii and The Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies. “Leisure Science is what we musicians do," Stevie says. "We 'give people the feel-good’... regenerate romance - you know, that’s what we DO - naturally! Hopefully my lyrics will make you laugh - help you see the world as a better place." Leisure Science is contagious and redeeming for the soul.

Book and Lyrics by Anthony Drewe
Honk! is the story of a someone who’s…well… different— whose looks instantly kindle prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, he must find his own way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. AND everyone else in the barnyard learns an important lesson:
Different isn't hateful...Different could be swell.

Cedar Meadow Farm's No-Till Field Day
    by Dorothy Noble, Country Folks
Steve Groff did it again. He attracted a growing number of conservation leaders, equipment dealers, farm suppliers and university experts at his 5th annual field day. Billed "Tools for Transition," this year's sessions and demonstrations focused on how to switch from conventional tillage to no-till cropping systems. Groff's profitable yet environmentally friendly strategies prompted his award as the 1998 Outstanding Cooperator of the year by the Lancaster County Conservation District. And at the field day, Steve and his father, Elias Groff, were honored with the Pennsylvania Chesapeake Bay Clean Water Award. This award, presented by Pennsylvania department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Christian Herr and Gerald Heistand from the Lancaster County Conservation District, recognizes farm operators who excel in water quality protection. Field day visitors could observe first hand the Groffs' farming practices which protect the soil from erosion and prevent excess nitrogen and phosphorus from entering streams and ground water supplies. The fields, mapped and clearly designated, showed various cover crop combinations.
