Neat site for anyone who just wants to drool. The showman engines are the main site, but it is the rest of the rally that cements it. I think personal references for places to stay is the biggest request. Thanks though. COACH DAVID ROHRER
David Rohrer was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the oldest of six children. He is a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School where he participated in football, basketball, wrestling and baseball. Dave earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Stevens Point in 1965 and a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 1973. In 1965 Dave began teaching and coaching in the Waupun Jr. and Sr. High Schools, where he remained until his retirement in the spring of 2000. During his years in the Waupun School District he coached a variety of sports, namely football, volleyball, golf and softball, each for a limited time. It was wrestling to which he was committed as assistant and head coach for the entire 35 years. As head coach from 1969 to 1987, Waupun compiled a 161-52-4 record. His teams won seven Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championships, seven regional championships and three sectional championships. During this period, Waupun had 37 state qualifiers and 12 state place-winners. Dave feels that his 1983-84 season was his most memorable. It was the only year that his sons, Steve, a senior and Scott, a freshman wrestled on the same varsity team. That year Waupun wont he WLT conference championship, the regionals and sectionals and both Steve and Scott qualified for the state tournament. Steve went on to place fifth at 126 pounds.

The Eleventh Annual MSHA Awards Banquet broke new ground by NOT inducting anyone to the Handball Hall of Fame. Just the same, everyone had a great time as each of the 2003 State finalists were recognized. Prom Catering provided a great meal and Steve Bremer hosted the event at his historic Caves. No one left hungry or thirsty. Gary Rohrer, Steve Subak, Jerry Jordahl and Scott Sayer were thanked and presented with their sponsor shirts. And the 2003 Top Seven handball players were honored and awarded their top-ten shirts. Every table received a goody bag ranging from handballs to T-shirts to distribute among all the guests.

The twelfth Annual MSHA Awards Banquet paid tribute to fallen marine Moy Langhorst, lost in Iraq less than two weeks before the banquet. Each of the 2004 State finalists were recognized. Prom Catering provided a great meal and Steve Bremer hosted the event at his historic Caves. Wihtout any Hall of Fame inductions, the program was short enough to allow everyone to catch up and debate some past handball matches. Gary Rohrer, Steve Subak, Jerry Jordahl and Scott Sayer were thanked and presented with their sponsor shirts. And the 2004 Top Ten handball players were honored and awarded their top-ten shirts. Every table received a goody bag ranging from handballs to T-shirts to distribute among all the guests.
Eight Minnesota Handball Hall of Fame Members are recognized for all of their contributions on and off the courts.

Gary Rohrer Inducted Into the MSHA Hall of Fame
Dr. Gary Rohrer was inducted into the Minnesota State Handball Association Hall of Fame at the annual MSHA Awards Banquet Friday, May 15, 1998. Held at the Fort Snelling Club, this sixth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony was attended by nearly 100 MSHA members, their spouses and friends of Gary's.
1998 Hall of Fame Inductee Gary Rohrer and wife Saundra Good friend and national doubles partner Paul Schulz presented Gary as the 1998 Hall of Fame inductee. Al O'Neil, Warren Mitchell, Alva (what's your name?) Rankin also spoke on Gary's behalf. Long-time MSHA member Tom Quilling opened the ceremonies by welcoming everyone and introducing secretary Sheldon Silberman who acknowledged all of the top finishes in this year's nineteen different divisions spread over four tournaments (see results). He noted that attendance was once again down from the previous year prompting the board to consider cutting back on the number of tournaments and divisions. An invocation by Steve Subak preceded the banquet meal.
