M6K 1S6, Canada) Bill Bridget - while It Goes On The Shelf 16 was being printed - sent a 36-page printout (in color yet!) of an Avram Davidson website (http://cnj.digex.net/~pcks/henry/) that is maintained by Henry Wessells (Temporary Culture, Box 43072, Upper Montclair NJ 07043-0072). Wessells mentions Davidson's biographer, Eileen Gunn (525 19th Avenue East, Seattle WA 98112), who is cataloging Davidson's letters - I heard from Eileen Gunn shortly after Avram died, but had not heard any more. I thought I told her that I had a number of letters that I would be glad to send copies of.
Henry Wessells, who is also a John Buchan fan, says he will send me a xerox of The Power-house , which is apparently hard to find. I have never seen a copy.
Bill Bridget also sends a page of abstruse data on very expensive antique `pop-up' or three-dimensional books. I think the only thing of that sort that I have is the one Edward Gorey did a few years ago. And speaking of Edward Gorey: The World of Edward Gorey
Both the autographed and regular editions are the same price, but there are only 1000 autographed. A Gorey bibliography is long overdue, as he has published nearly 100 books and illustrated a couple of dozen more for other writers in the last 40 years - his first was in 1953. I got this from Signals at their 24-hour toll-free number for credit-card orders, 1-800-669-9696. The item number is 50251 - and I got the autographed edition.

AUTHOR INDEX TO OUR YOUNG FOLKS
Our Young Folks published works by almost every nineteenth-century writer for children, from Sophie May to Harriet Beecher Stowe; it also featured fine engravings, including a handful by Winslow Homer. While the periodical's run ended in 1873, because my interest is only in works through 1872, the last year is not indexed here. Alphabetized by author's real name (where known); use control-F to search for pseudonym. Author's birth/death dates appear after the name; titles are in alphabetical order. Number after each title is made up of the following: year.month.pages. For pieces of music, listed author wrote the words to the song. For engravings, "drawn by" is the one given credit, except in the case of Landseer and of Frederick Church. KEY: /chromo = chromolithograph; /e = engraving; /p = piece is a poem; /s = piece is music
