Spiritwalk Library Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.net Project Gutenberg is the Internet's oldest producer of FREE electronic books (eBooks or eTexts). It intends to put as many books on-line as possible and to gather these on line works into one central location. It is a terrific service of the University of Illinois.
Project Gutenberg is the brainchild of Michael Hart, who in 1971 decided that it would be a really good idea if lots of famous and important texts were freely available to everyone in the world. Since then, he has been joined by hundreds of volunteers who share his vision. Now, more than thirty years later, Project Gutenberg has the following figures (as of November 8th 2002): 203 New eBooks released during October 2002, 1975 New eBooks produced in 2002 (they were 1240 in 2001) for a total of 6267 Total Project Gutenberg eBooks. 119 eBooks have been posted so far by Project Gutenberg of Australia

It is chit-chatty, but one-sided. He was a strong anti-Jacobite, and intimate with William III., whose accession to the throne he strenuously defended. Of course, the Jacobites violently attacked the book. Ox The Dumb To gather in piles the pitiful chaff

Vol. VII, Issue 1 (January 1998) Dr. Merkur, the author of Gnosis: An Esoteric Tradition of Mystical Visions and Unions This paper is not intended to be the last word on the subject or to close the book on the episode. What it does achieve is to serve as a corrective on the timing when noted individuals either left the headquarters or their positions. For instance, Mr. Donant remarks that Boris de Zirkoff, Sven Eek, George Cardinal Le Gros, and L. Gordon Plummer all left Headquarters prior to 1946 for varying reasons, so they should not be included in the events of 1946. In closing, as editor of Theosophical History it is my hope that this paper will stimulate further discussion on this episode in the history of the Theosophical Society. Until all the documents surface from all quarters, one must maintain an open and dispassionate mind on this controversial subject.

80. BANGLAPEDIA: Lytton, Lord Edward Robert
Son of Edward Bulwer Lytton, the novelist, Edward Robert Lytton was educated theAfghan war expenses gave ample ground for criticism against Lord Lytton.
http://banglapedia.search.com.bd/HT/L_0143.htm
Lytton, Lord Edward Robert (1831-1891) Viceroy and Governor General of India from 1876 to 1880. Son of Edward Bulwer Lytton, the novelist, Edward Robert Lytton was educated at Harrow in England and at Bonn in Germany. A man of letters and an eloquent speaker, he served as a member of the diplomatic core in a number of European capitals. His years in India were eventful. A severe famine raged over most of south India including Madras, Bombay, Hyderabad and Mysore for two years from 1876-1878. In the second year the famine also struck parts of Central India and the Punjab, and a heavy toll of lives consequently perished. The relief measures cost over ten crores of rupees and due to the failure of crops there was great loss of revenue. Lord Lytton's government, therefore, appointed a famine Commission under Richard Strachey to enquire into the causes of the famine and relief measures taken to mitigate the sufferings of the people. On the basis of the commission report a famine code was drawn up which laid down certain regulations relating to famine measures in the future.
