Dìtský rehabilitaèní stacionáø pøi MNO
I na zaèátku 21. století pøedstavuje dìtská mozková obrna (DMO) závažný problém medicinský, spoleèenský, ale i sociálnì ekonomický.
Definice DMO
W.J. Little je zároveò autorem jedné z klasifikací DMO. Podobný výskyt popisuje i australská studie z 90. let. V ÈR je asi 20 000 postižených dìtí.

MS 7887
Papers of James Frederick Watson (1878-1945)
Scope and content note
  • Papers
  • 9.52 m
The Papers of J.F. Watson were purchased from his daughter Miss Pauline Watson in 1989. The Watson Papers form a large collection covering an exceptionally long period and including an unusual variety of materials. The bulk of the collection comprises Watson's own papers and they document most phases of his life, from his early days as a student and medical practitioner to his long career as a historian, publicist and editor of Historical Records of Australia . In addition, there are important papers of his father, the politician James Watson, and of other forebears of Watson, in many cases annotated, arranged and bound by Watson. Finally, there are papers relating to Watson's life and writings which were assembled by Pauline Watson in the 35 years after his death. The papers include family, business, political and official correspondence, manuscripts, research material, essays, cutting books, certificates, legal documents, printed items, invitations and photographs. There are also many books from Watson's library and an unusual array of objects, mostly associated with James Watson, including a Treasury despatch box, travelling desk, two pairs of spectacles, badges, medals and a volume of New South Wales duty stamps.

LONG LIVED YODERS We'd like to thank our readers who sent in information about long lived Yoders in their own familes. Even back in the early days of the United States the Yoder clan had some rather healthy starins to it. This was a time when the average life expectancy was much shorter than it is today and when the Biblical "three score years and ten" was a significant accomplishment. One of these Yoder strains was the subject of an article in "Genealogical Notes and Queries" of the Pennsylvania German, Lititz, PA. "Col." George Yoder of the North Carolina branch authored the following which also gave a rather colorful explanation of one of the reasons that family had not been involved in slave-holding. It was published about 1912: "Long Lived Yoders" "One of our readers, G.M. Yoder of Hickory, N.C. sends us the following list of names and ages of descendants of Conrad Yoder, one of the pioneers of the South Fork Valley of North Carolina. "Children: David, 93; Catherine,86.

PATE FAMILY LETTERS Submitted by Jinks Pate Lee Jan. 27, 1842 Written to Perleamon Pate State of Louisiana
    Jackson Co.
Brownsville, Ill. Dear Bro. I have taken up my pen at last to address you. I left Jackson County the 5th day of Dec. 1841 and was seven weeks and one day on our Journey. I have had a desperate trip of it. You know the situation that NANCY's mother was in when you left she is very little better yet and I have brought her the whole way which you know must have been a desperate job. The rest of us is all well and hope that these lines will find you all enjoying the same blessing. I have been here but two days and can't give you any satisfaction about the country. I made my stand at JAMES DYERS but he is not at home and I have not looked about much yet. I like the apperance of the country as far as I have seen, first rate. I want you to write to me as soon as you get this. I have but little to write as I can't give you much satisfaction until I stay longer and see more. JAMES DAVIS came with me which was a great help. When you write direct your letter to Louisiana Claborn Parish, Russelville. So nothing more at present but remember your effectionate and loving brother until death. Anthony Pate Note by Jinks Pate Lee: 26 Jul 1999 Perleamon Pate (1810-1894) moved from TN to Jackson Co, IL
