president and CEO
Association of Public Television Stations John Lawson began service as president and CEO of the Association of Public Television Stations in April 2001. Lawson leads the association's efforts to secure federal funding and favorable public policies for the nation's 357 public television stations. Priorities include digital conversion, an expanded role for public television in education, use of DTV datacasting for homeland security, and universal access to public television through all distribution technologies. During Lawson's first year as president of APTS, public broadcasting persuaded Congress to approve the first federal funds specifically targeted for the digital conversion of stations. Additional funding has followed. Congress also approved the extension and expansion of public television's Ready to Learn and Ready to Teach programs in the education reform bill signed into law by President Bush in January 2002, the "No Child Left Behind Act." And the FCC ruled that public stations can use a portion of their DTV transmission capacity for revenue producing activities. In 1993, Lawson founded Convergence Services, Inc., a consulting and lobbying firm that focused on educational technology policy and which he ran until accepting the APTS position. Lawson also has produced and hosted seven major satellite videoconferences on educational technology, reaching thousands of schools, libraries and colleges across the U.S. Previously, he worked at South Carolina ETV Network and headed an environmental foundation.

Writer and TV cook Nigella Lawson has the talent, looks and success to attract the envy of millions. But her life has had its fair share of tragedy, and Chris Jones of the BBC's News Profiles Unit tells how Nigella is intent on living in the present.
She was once introverted, overweight and insecure. Now, to the eye of one well-known journalist, "she has creamy, perfect skin, lustrous hair, a beauty queen's figure and dazzlingly white teeth". Another interviewer declared her to be "stunningly beautiful, warm, honest, likeable and amazingly normal". And both observations were made by women. Ten weeks after the death of her husband, John Diamond, whose wry observations on his four-year battle against cancer were chronicled in his column in The Times, Nigella Lawson is chalking up another entry on her superwoman CV. Out on the town with husband John Diamond
Another series of her Channel 4 food programme, Nigella Bites, has begun. And the series, being filmed at her home in west London, has also been bought by American television.

Printer-Friendly Version
A New Voyage to Carolina , published in 1709. Next Morning very early, we waded thro' the Savanna, the Path lying there; and about ten a Clock came to a hunting Quarter, of a great many Santees Santee Jack Congeree Indians; we gave him a Stroud-water-Blew, to make his Wife an Indian Northerly . We made our selves as merry as we could, having a good Supper with the Scraps of the Venison we had given us by the Indians This Day all of us had a Mind to have rested, but the Indian Carolina W.N. Another wonderful playground in a fabulous location . This playground is especially great for toddlers , but it's playstructures offer lots of opportunity for creative play so there may be this kind of appeal for older kids. The playstructures don't offer challenging climbs, so it may not be of much interest to kids that crave the thrill of climbing high up. There are lots of benches around the various play areas for adults to sit, watch and socialize. For climbing and imaginative play , one section has a wonderful ship that is quite large. The bow of the ship is somewhat smaller than the stern and is designed for smaller kids. It has a rope net to climb up and a steering wheel looking out over the water. The stern of the ship has a ladder or a rope net to climb up a bit higher and another steering wheel, also facing the water. There is a wide slide down from this upper level. There is also a ground level under the stern section that has seats for passengers as well as another steering wheel.

Including Transcript of Hearing Before "Judge" John Lawson, 3-23-01 This document includes opinions, conjecture and editorial comment Preamble The following document has been sent to the Washington State BAR associate as part of a complaint against part-time pro tem Judge John Lawson, operating out of Aukeen Court, in Kent, Washington. As we know, the BAR is made up of attorneys. As we know, attorneys stick together like lovesick sardines in one of the most tightly compressed and shameless "good ol' boy" networks on the planet. That being the case, we expect no useful or productive benefit to society to emerge as a result of this complaint . This complaint is made mostly in the interests of disclosure-to disclose to the public just how silly, unprofessional and dangerous our judges have become, and to demonstrate to the public that

PRESSESTIMMEN
Chopin's Ballade in F-moll, Starnberg

REVIEWS (excerpts)
Chopin's Ballade in F minor, Starnberg (Concert of the Munich Pianists' Club)
"At the end of the concert, John Webber gave a perfect performance of the ballade in F minor Op. 52: With compelling dramatic logic he revealed a gently shaded intimate view of a reflective, melancholy Chopin." Die Süddeutsche Zeitung, Starnberger Ausgabe
"Die lustigen Weiber" (Nicolai) in Wolfenbüttel
"The overture was filled with Italian lightness. John Lawson Webber securely led the musically precise orchestra, and also led the chorus skillfully and with precision." Wolfenbüttel Anzeiger
"Hänsel und Gretel" in Wolfenbüttel
"The orchestra under John Lawson Webber`s direction accompanied the chorus and soloists securely and sensitively. The precision and delight in music-making which permeated the entire performance captured the enthusiastic audience until the last tone." Wolfenbüttel Anzeiger
"The Elixir of Love" in Goslar
"The orchestra under the John Lawson Webber`s circumspect direction did justice to the work, the tempi were well-chosen, the conductor spurred on his musicians, so that Donizetti`s music emerged in a first-rate fashion from the orchestra pit."
