Fast Lane's European expansion is right on track
Fast Lane, a leading IT training company and a long-time Cisco Learning Partner in the Middle East, today announced that its expansion into Europe was 'right on track'.
Josef Miskulnig. Since the opening of Fast Lane's office in Austria last November 2002, Cisco has extended Fast Lane's Partner Licence to include Germany and Switzerland. This is a significant achievement for Fast Lane, as these markets are amongst the strongest economies in Europe, demanding high technical training standards, a service that Fast Lane has always been dedicated to providing. 'Fast Lane has been a Cisco Learning Partner for the past 7 years and we pride ourselves in being committed to maintaining high quality training standards across our centres in the Middle East and Europe where an international team of experts bring their commitment and ideas and knowledge to enhance a company's performance and productivity,' said Josef Miskulnig, managing director, Fast Lane. 'How? By providing companies in both regions with a valuable asset, a highly skilled IT workforce, who will play a critical role in enabling those companies to compete effectively in an increasingly competitive global economy.'

On behalf of all fans everywhere I would like to offer sincerest condolences to Anne and her extended family. The death of her father has saddened us all and the loss we feel will undoubtably stay with us forever. I do however, beg Anne and her musical family to continue to bring Slim's music to the people through their live shows. To lose Slim is the worst tragedy imaginable for any country music fan but to lose the opportunity to enjoy the talents of Joy, Heather, Anne, David and The Travellin' Country Band as well would be more than most of us could cope with. So, when you're ready guys, we'd like to see you all back out on the road again singing Slim's songs for us.

South July 2002 Return on Investment or ROI is what we make on what we invest. If we buy a $30,000 rental unit with our own money and rent it for $435 per month ($100 per week), we receive 1.45% per month ROI. This is a net return, if we have no costs of renting, such as vacancy, depreciation, interest, maintenance, management, etc. If we could get 1.45% per month with no costs, we would be doing nothing short of fantastic. But renting always has costs. If we can hold the costs to 20% of the income, we still get a very nice ROI of 1.16% per month, or nearly 14% per year (80% of 435 is $348. $348/$30,000 = 1.16%). This is especially good in today's investment climate.

The ABC Television series Our Street travels to Kings Cross in inner Sydney, Darwin in the Top End and Peterborough in rural South Australia. Each community tells its story as Jenny Brockie explores what lies behind the shopfronts, fences and front yards. This website tells the Our Street story online. Episode transcripts will be published the day after each broadcast. The site also gives you the chance to tell the story of your street. Go to Your Story to find out how.
Episode One: Roslyn Street, Kings Cross, Sydney.
Kings Cross is Australia's best known nightspot, renowned for its bright lights and night clubs. Once the bohemian centre of Sydney, the Cross is now better known for prostitution, drugs and crime. But it's also home to a diverse and fiercely loyal local community. Roslyn Street is a small street in the heart of Kings Cross which contains small businesses, a tiny park, terrace houses, a private hospital and a Catholic Church. At the time of filming, there was spirited debate in Roslyn Street about proposed development of the park which provided a home for the homeless.

Franklin Knight LanePortrait of a Progressive Reformer Marc A. Levin, IGS Franklin Knight Lane epitomized the progressive impulse that pervaded America in the late 1880s and continued through the early 1900s. A notable public figure, Lane was a political reformer, labor activist, municipal legal advocate, party leader, public administrator, statesman, humanitarian, and conservationist. A Canadian by birth, Lane's career catapulted him to the pinnacle of American political power as a trusted presidential advisor, federal regulator, cabinet official, and a national voice for progressive reform and good government. His life was a testimony to public purpose, patriotism, and the democratic ideals of equality and opportunity. Lane was born near Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, on July 15, 1864. His parents, Christopher and Carolina, were Presbyterian prohibitionists of Scotch-Irish heritage. His father was a Presbyterian minister who suffered recurrent attacks of bronchitis that weakened his preacher's voice and led him to abandon the ministry for a career in dentistry. To escape the harsh Canadian climate, he moved the family to California in 1871, settling in Napa. In 1876, the Lanes moved to Oakland, an area that offered greater professional opportunity for a dentist and better schooling for the children. At Oakland High School, Franklin impressed his teachers as bright, confident, and gregarious, traits that won him the honor of class valedictorian.

All views expressed are those of the authors and are not necessarily shared or endorsed by NPA NPA CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE I agree with Norman Rich in his recent letter National Parks Journal , October) regarding the NPA's actions in campaigning against the proposed Parramatta to Chatswood railway bridge over the Lane Cove River. The bridge would have been the same design as that which carries the extended East Hills line over the Georges River at East Hills. I challenge those who opposed the Lane Cover bridge to sit under or near the Georges River railway bridge and see how little impact the bridge and the trains crossing it have on the surrounding parkland. NPA's decision to oppose the bridge has meant that the NSW Government will have to fund extra costs associated with the tunnel...NPA may have inadvertently forced a cut-back in the National Parks budget across the rest of the state. The decision to build a tunnel instead of a bridge will make the new railway longer, slower and thus less attractive to commuters and limiting the railway's ability to reduce road traffic.

ANNE HUTCHINSON STANDS DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE WEST WING, THE WORK OF CYRUS DALLIN, GIVEN BY THE ANNE HUTCHINSON MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION AND STATE FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS ON JUNE 2, 1922. TEXT COMPILED BY SAM BEHLING Anne MARBURY, my 10th great grandmother, was the daughter of Reverend Francis MARBURY and Bridget DRYDEN, and was born in 1591 in Alford, Lincolnshire, England. She married William HUTCHINSON, a merchant, 9 Aug 1612 in London. She and her husband came to America in 1634 with Reverend John Lothrop's group on the ship "Griffin" and settled in Boston. No stranger to religion, Anne grew up during the persecution of the Catholics and Separatists under Elizabeth and James I. Her father, Rev. Francis Marbury, had been imprisoned twice for preaching against the incompetence of English ministers, though he later became the rector of St. Martin's Vintry, London, rector of St. Pancras, Soper Lane, and finally rector of St. Margaret's, New Fish Street. He was holding two of these offices simultaneously when he died in 1611.

Bibliography of Primary and Secondary Sources
I include:
  • A list of all the manuscripts which contain handwritten copies of Anne Finch's poems, both those which were openly attributed to her in print and those which were not. In an appendix to my book I will include a list of the unattributed poems and arguments for attribution. For now the list and arguments may be found in my chronology of Finch's poems (which includes all her poems, a brief description of them, their earliest printing history, all the various anthologies they have appeared in, and their sources if they are translations or imitations or allusive).
  • A list of all 20th century editions of Finch's poetry, none of which are complete. (I have now been able to include the most recent partial edition of Finch's poetry by Barbara McGovern and Charles Hinnant.)
  • A link to a bibliography of books Finch used as source texts for her translations and adaptations; this includes books of the same type which she may have been influenced by, and a list of secondary books on this material.
  • A link to an annotated list of the precise sources of each of Finch's fables . Here the interested reader finds Finch's poem next to each of the sources.
  • A list of those secondary sources which directly relate to Anne or her family members and close friends and the places where she lived. Here are also those critical and scholarly essays and books which have been written about her texts or her life thus far.
