It is for the serious collector as well as the not so serious collector. Join us for fun spirited discussion of Judy Bolton and all her adventures as well as the life and times of Margaret Sutton." Click here to join up! Back in 1960 a fan named Marguerite wrote to Margaret Sutton and asked her for a recipe for a Girl Scout troop project. Marguerite has been kind enough to share both Margaret's reply and recipe The Judy Bolton books, written by Margaret Sutton, were a popular girls mystery series. The first 4 volumes were published in 1932 by Grosset and Dunlap. The series continued until 1967 and consisted of 38 volumes. Each book was "based on something that actually happened" and many were also based on real life sites. More than 4 million copies were sold and the books are still popular among collectors such as the Phantom Friends. Fortunately, some volumes of the Judy Bolton mystery series are being published again by Applewood Books and Aeonian Press. Sadly, Margaret Sutton passed away on June 21, 2001. She was 98 years old.

The artistic reality of Judy Garland:
Gerald Frank
Author
Judy

udy Garland never had a problem taking her audience wherever she wanted them to go; this was her special magic from the first moment that she stepped on stage. Born into a family of musical performers, Garland had a happy and joyous childhood in which harsh punishment and discipline were never used. Starting to perform on stage at the age of six she already displayed ability as a singer well beyond her age. Showing no signs of shyness she would sing the right note with perfect pitch, keeping perfect time.

67. Courtroom TV Shows: Judge Judy, Mills Lane, And Joe Brown
Judge Judy, Judge Mills Lane, and Judge Joe Brown are all briefly profiled on this page.
http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/1014/court.htm
Courtroom T.V Shows
This page is dedicated to some of the best television shows ever!!! Those, of course, are the T.V. shows that take place in a courtroom. The first of these was The People's Court with Judge Wapner. But now he's on some animal court show, so we won't even consider him. Then came my favorite Courtroom Show.... Judge Judy is by far the best judge to ever be on T.V. Judith Sheindlin began her law career in 1972 as a prosecutor of juvinile cases in New York. Judge Judy was appointed to New York's Family Court as a judge in 1982 by the mayor of that time, Ed Koch (Who happens now to be the judge on The People's Court Four ears later, Judge Judy was appointed to be the supervising judge in Manhatten. Due to her reputation, she was featured on 60 Minutes , and then hired to do the Judge Judy television show premiering on September 16, 1996.
It is interresting to note that Judge Judy's Husband will soon be the judge on "The People's Court." http://www.judgejudy.com/ The next judge is Judge Mills Lane. Mills Lane was once a rifle instructor for the U.S. Marines, as well as a welterweight boxer. He even once was a boxing referee, maybe best known for disqualifying Mike Tyson in his fight against Evander Holyfield.

69. Judy Berlin
A review of the film by Mongoose.
http://www.haro-online.com/movies/judy_berlin.html
Judy Berlin Judy Berlin is one of those strange movies that critics will heap adoration upon, while general audiences will most likely scratch their heads in wonder. It is not really a movie about anything more than they human character. The pacing is slow, the characters are annoying, but it is an interesting examination on how normal people interact with each other. Judy Berlin is the first movie for writer/director Eric Mendelsohn. Everything focuses around a solar eclipse that lasts longer than expected in Babylon, New York. Judy Berlin (Edie Falco, Bullets Over Broadway, HBO's The Sopranos ) is a wannabe actor, getting ready to head out to California to break it big. Her mother Sue (Barbara Barrie, Hercules , NBC's Suddenly Susan ) is a schoolteacher whom everyone hates. She is short with her students and disrespectful to her peers. Her principal, Arthur Gold (Bob Dishy, Used People, Critical Condition ) is living unhappily with his clueless wife Alice (Madeline Kahn in her final performance) and son Adam (Aaron Harnick

Funder Focus: Judy McClelland and the Molson Donations Fund
July 7, 2003
By Nicole Zummach

This month in our Funder Focus, we feature the Molson Donations Fund , Molson Canada's philanthropy and community investment program. CharityVillage spoke with donations officer Judy McClelland about the important causes that the company chooses to support, its dedication to responsible funding, and the evolution of corporate philanthropy.
CharityVillage: Molson's corporate investment program has three components: the Molson Donations Fund, the Local Heroes program, and your Don't Drink and Drive campaigns. How much do you distribute annually?
Judy McClelland:
We just launched year six of our Local Heroes program. In the first five years we gave away $3.5 million and funded 2,200 to 2,300 projects nationally during that time. For the Molson Donations Fund, our annual budget is usually about $1.5 to $1.6 million a year.

In 1979, Judy Dater published Imogen Cunningham: A Portrait, to celebrate Cunningham's (1883-1976) life and work as one of America's most important photographers. Coming out of the feminist movement of the 1970's, Dater and her photographs raise questions about societal gender roles and female identity. In Dater's photograph "Imogen and Twinka", Dater asks the viewer to think about preconceived notions of age and beauty.

University of Colorado Post-Doctoral Fellow (s) 1988-1992 Research Interests: Research is conducted to prove the hypotheses proposed in the following 3 NIH funded projects. Tamoxifen remains the endocrine therapy of choice in the treatment of all stages of hormone-dependent breast cancer. In addition, large-scale clinical trials are in progress to determine the potential of tamoxifen to act as a chemopreventive agent in women considered at high risk for developing breast cancer. However, several studies have raised concern over the safety of chronic treatment with this drug. Alternate antiestrogens including droloxifene, toremifene, and idoxifene, may not be genotoxic probably because of different routes of metabolism which could lead to a decrease in amount and/or type of ultimate carcinogen(s). The central hypothesis of this project is that the formation of reactive intermediates is an important mechanism of carcinogenesis and/or cytotoxicity for certain antiestrogens.

TO JUDY'S HOBBY ROOM This is my little area of the house where I spend almost all my free time when I'm not cooking or on this computer! Come on in any time and see what I might be working on. You may find me in the kitchen where you'll find some of my favorite recipes. I love to cook and there will never be a recipe posted here that I have not tried myself. One of my favorite recipes is my homemade bread. This is a little heavier than some breads I've tried and I just love it. It is great to slice and use for sandwiches. You will also find pictures of my family and whatever may be going on with us at any given time. You've probably figured out by now that I'm a quilter and here you will find works in progress and too few completed projects. I have so many ideas and I jump from one project to another before finishing anything. One of my favorite projects is dyeing fabric. In the sewing room, you will find mostly links to quilt shopping online, my favorite national teachers' home pages, quilting friends' home pages and links to pages which are helpful for building your own web page. Research Description: My laboratory research focuses on the mechanisms regulating newborn pulmonary vascular tone during the normal perinatal circulatory transition and under conditions of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn.
Current Research: A second focus of research is post-translational modifications of proteins that regulate vascular tone in the newborn lung. We are particularly interested in the molecular chaperone protein, heat shock protien 90 (Hsp90). Current reseach focuses on Hsp90 interactions with nitric oxide synthase and prostaglandin E2 synthase (p23) in the regulation of pulmonary vascular tone and alterations in Hsp90 - client protein interations in chronic hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension.
