Laurence Housman
Laurence Housman July 18 ) was an English playwright . A younger brother of the poet A. E. Housman , Laurence Housman was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire . After education at local schools, he went with his sister Clemence to study art at the Lambert School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. He first worked as a book illustrator with London publishers, illustrating such works as Christina Rossetti 's Goblin Market (1893) and Jane Barlow's The End of Elfintown (1894) in an intricate Art Nouveau style. But he also wrote and published several volumes of poetry in the 1890s, and when his eyesight began to fail, he turned more and more to writing. He lived his last 35 years with his sister in

Young Queen Victoria
Sprachlich einfach, interessant, unterhaltsam - in englisch-deutschem Paralleldruck.

for the Week of December 10, 1996 This WORSHIP QUOTE OF THE WEEK is a verse of Scripture and a short poem on
the theme of the incarnation. The title of the poem is taken from the first
    line of the verse.
    First the verse:
The Word became flesh and blood,
    and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John 1:14 (from THE MESSAGE) And now the poem: "And the Word was made Flesh" Light looked down and beheld Darkness. "Thither will I go," said Light. Peace looked down and beheld War. "Thither will I go," said Peace. Love looked down and beheld Hatred. "Thither will I go," said Love. So came Light and shone. So came Peace and gave rest.
