The mails sent by Robert to the group have been re-arranged somewhat in order to present them here in alphabetical form. Hi, the following emails include lists of names derived from the Victorian (Australia) Births Deaths and Marriages index up to 1889 - in many instances the Vic BDM marriage indexes list the birth place of the individual - these lists are for those marriages where TIPPERARY was recorded in the index .. of course there will be errors duplicates and omissions - that's just the way it is... in total there were nearly 3800 folk listed maybe you'll recognise some folk for a rough starting point I might be inclined to assume that the males were born approx. 24-26 years before the marriage and the females approx. 20-22 years - could be very wrong of course - but you have to start somewhere...

William Tecumseh Sherman The Artist Daniel Huntington (1816–1906) painted the portraits of presidents and generals, writers and artists, Astors and Vanderbilts during seventy productive years as a working artist. About a thousand of his twelve-hundred known works are portraits; of these, fifteen are of secretaries of war and two of secretaries ad interim who also were incumbent commanding generals (Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman). Army records indicate that Huntington painted Sherman and Grant from life at a fee of $300 per portrait. The Sherman work hangs in the Pentagon in the Army Secretarial Portrait Gallery. Sherman retained G. P. A. Healy’s portrait of him, painted in Rome in 1873, when the Huntington was placed in the gallery two years later. William Tecumseh Sherman

The Hudson Bay Company's Governor William McTavish prudently abdicated all authority
to the National Committee of the Metis Nation.
The infamous (I)-John A MacDonald (1815-1891), Prime Minister of the Liberal Conservative Party, for a strong, highly centralized, unitary government, made the following statement: "The French half-breeds at Red River are pertinacious resolved to keep the North West a buffalo reserve forever." (I)-John A MacDonald (1815-1891) was a militant Orange Man since 1844. The Orange Order had a violent birth in Loughgall, Ireland in 1795, paying ideological homage to the British Crown and Protestantism. They were a secret society that promoted volunteer militia units for mutual aid and were focused on infiltrating the Civil Service for power. Its power peaked during the MacDonald reign but was still influential into the 1950's. Many considered the Orange Men as the storm troopers of the Ontario Liberal Conservative Party. George Browne (1852-1919), who married a Metis woman this year, joined them in their annual buffalo hunt.

1856 Deed Michael Healey married Rebecca Price (b. abt. 1835 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY) in Clinton County on Sep 7, 1856. Their first childrentwins, Spencer Earl and Niher, were born on Jun 8, 1857. (Could Sarah Nier (similarity to Niher) have been Michael's sister, or John a cousin?) A daughter, (Nora) Christena, was born about 1858. Guardianship dated 2-12-1869. Spencer actually lived with the William Price family several years before guardianship was petitioned according to court documents filed by William Price.) Settlement (.pdf file - requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) of Spencer Healey's estate and release of William Price from his guardianship responsibilities was concluded on October 8, 1878. Rebecca's father, Spencer Price, and her brother, Timothy C. Price, are buried in Hills Cemetery, Kirklin, IN. Both died near in time and in the same vicinity as Michael and Rebecca Healey (presumably, based on recorded deeds at the time).
