Goodness!
Goodness is love in action,
love with its hand to the plow,
love with the burden on its back,
love following his footsteps who went about continually doing good.

Composed of names and other information contributed by several Getty projects, including the Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA), the Foundation for Documents of Architecture (FDA), the Getty Center Photo Study Collection (GCPS), and the Getty Information Institutes Vocabulary Program (VP). The TGN is the only available automated geographical resource that is hierarchical, global in scope, and targeted at researchers, catalogers, librarians, and archivists dealing with the history of art and architecture. The logical focus of a TGN record is the "place." Each place has attributes, including names, placecurrent political and physical world.

Abstract : A book on programmable logic controllers (PLC's), which are widely used to control all kinds of electrical devices. The 800+ page can be downloaded in one large file or in individual chapters. Readers can learn everything from high-level concepts, like Boolean logic and operational design planning, to physical details such as PLC specifications and connectivity. The author explains different methods of programming PLC's and offers suggestions for selecting the right PLC for a particular application. The book is a work in progress, so a few "to do" notes are scattered throughout the text

More corrections will be made as time permits. Meanwhile, we believe most users will find this material quite useful despite the minor flaws. From Spurgeon's preface: "The reader will please observe that the books most heartily recommended are printed in the largest type with the remarks in italics. Good, but more ordinary, works are in medium type, and the least desirable are in the smallest letter. Thus we hope the eye will be caught at once by volumes best worthy of attention."

    Introduction
The surname Singer is unquestionably German since it appears in numerous records in communities scattered throughout Germany in the eighteenth century. However, while there are immigration records of various Singers arriving in Colonial America during the early 1700s, we have not yet found the link between the American/Canadian Singer family and the corresponding family in Germany. The Singer name was not uncommon in Colonial America. Families with this name have been identified in New England, New York and Pennsylvania in the 1700s. Further, as is often the case in written records of Colonial times, variations in spelling are numerous since the few who could write usually put down what they heard whenever a name was given. For example, Singer, Senger, Syngar, Sanger, Saenger, Reisinger, Hansinger, Zenger, Seeger, and Seager. Of these, the variant Sanger appears most often, and, indeed, a large contemporary Sanger family has evolved. Our family, the "Canadian Singers," has its European roots in Germany. We say this because the Canadian census return of 1871 reveals that my grandfather, Eli Singer put down his origin as German.
