WILLARD TROWBRIDGE SNOW
written by an Unknown Relative, additional information compiled by Donna Hansen Woodward
Submitted by Michael Jefferies
Willard Trowbridge Snow was born May 6, 1811 to Levi Snow and Lucina Streeter Snow in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Willard's middle name of Trowbridge came from his father's mother who's maiden name was Mary Trowbridge. Willard's early life was spent on a farm where his father had moved to before his birth. There is no doubt that Willard worked to clear rocks and trees from the farming land as he grew old enough to help in the fields. The land in St. Johnsbury was poor, so with the Snow family being large, much was required to provide for all the needs. Industry and economy were required by all the family members. The Snow children were taught to work, each child had his daily jobs from the time they could carry a pail of water. Willard's father and mother saw to it that their children obtained an education. Both Levi and Lucina loved books and learning, they were avid readers and natural teachers which affected their children in future years as several of the Snow children taught school as they became older.

Positions include city, state, provincial, and national positions, including those beyond the United States and Canada. Also see our list of politicians in national service , organized by position. No list can encompass everything. For example, at the local level we list only mayors. We note territorial, state, provincial and federal supreme court judges, attorney generals, legislators, cabinet members, constitutional convention delegates, and presidential electors. State and federal political party positions and national convention delegates are also included. Sorry, we don't yet have data on Canadian party positions. We now include ambassadors. Links lead to official government biographies, including the U. S. Congressional Biographical Directory. Sources included Fraternity catalogues, The Phi Gamma Delta magazine, and the aforementioned government links. We also found valuable information on

Main HISTORY OF HOMŒOPATHY
AND ITS INSTITUTIONS IN AMERICA
By William Harvey King, M. D., LL. D.
Presented by Sylvain Cazalet CHAPTER I
THE WESTERN COLLEGE OF HOMŒOPATHIC MEDICINE.
By David Herrick Beckwith, M. D., Cleveland, Ohio. The feasibility of establishing a homœopathic college in Cleveland was discussed by the physicians of the new school of medicine in the west in May, 1849, though no definite action was taken. June 9 of the same year a circular was issued by T. V. Morrow, dean of the Eclectic Medical Institute of Cincinnati, in part as follows : "Resolved : That we invite the homœopathic physicians of the United States, and of the west especially, to unite in recommending and nominating a professor to fill the chair of homœopathy in the Eclectic Medical Institute." Just what the strong personality of Dr. Rosa and the stronger truths of homœopathy in influencing the eclectic students toward homœopathy had to do with the decision of the board of trustees is not for us to say. Meanwhile a college was being formed in Cleveland. March 20, 1859, a meeting of the physicians of the west was held at the Dunham house, now the Forest City house, at which an organization was effected with John H. Wheeler, M. D., president ; A. H. Burritt, M. D., vice-president ; Earl Tiffany, secretary, and Dudley Baldwin, treasurer. June 21, of the same year, the trustees presented a plan for formal organization, with a course of study for the session of 1850-1851. The following faculty was chosen :

WATSON / SHINN I am looking for death and burial information for my great grandfather, Robert Preston WATSON. he was living alone in Jewell County, Kansas on the 1920 US Census. I am also looking for Carroll Amer SHINN, brother-in-law to Robert Preston WATSON. I know that Robert WATSON was living with Carroll SHINN and his family in 1900 and, I believe, in 1910.
