The main problem is that the word 'cotton' means two distinct things.
It is both the product of the cotton plant and also a description used for a
high quality, but otherwise undefined, form of woollen cloth.
Before about 1400 it is almost certainly wool
By 1800 it is almost certainly a form of fibre derived from the cotton
plant.
Between those dates it's anyone's guess, and lots of people are having lots
of fun arguing over it.
In reality it's another one of those re-enactor camp fire arguments that goes on forever, along with archery effectiveness, did they actually wear tassetts after 1600, what is a pourpoint, did Vikings use longbows, how were tents held up, and on and on and on...

The music consists of just two pages on the inside sheets. The music is in good condition with some light surface wear to the front cover and edges. The interior pages are clean, however, have teacher notes and writing in blue and red pen with few pencil marks, as well.
