USMS Archives databases were maintained through December 31, 2002. For more recent information, please visit usms.org . This report of all USMS All-Americans and each year they were named was important in the process whereby we created databases of our history. Whereever one swimmer's All-American honors were divided over more than one name, as might happen when names were changed in marriage, we changed all information to the current name. Further, these databases were made possible by the use of a "permanent swimmer id code" . The intent was to continue to use the same code even when the swimmer stopped swimming so that the clear identification of this person and his or her swimming records would never be lost. Click here to see source data by year from which this summary was created. William F Babcock (bck48n9):total#=5; PL: 1974-1975, 1983-1984, 1986;

Wichita, Kansas
Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society has a number of Sedgwick County, KS marriage affidavits in their library. (Some of the affidavits from the 1870's and 1880's are missing from the files even though the names appear in the index). MHGS has copies of the marriage returns for 1882 and 1883, then 1885 through April 1913. These contain the same information as the affidavits along with when the marriage was performed and by whom. Here you can access a marriage index covering Books A through Z, 9 May, 1870 to 24 May 1922. If you would like a copy of any affidavit we have, please send a SASE along with $3.00 (US Dollars only) for each affidavit to: MHGS, P. O. Box 1121, Wichita, KS 67201-1121 . You must include the names of the bride and groom, the date, Book and page number or our committee will be unable to fulfill your request. If there is no date in the date column there was no return made to Probate Court that the marriage was performed. From April 1, 1915 to May 28, 1917 (R405 through T386) no marriages were recorded in Sedgwick County, only that application was made for a license. These must be obtained from Vital Statistics in Topeka.

    Mary Breese ( The following is from a typed manuscript title: The story of the coming of Abraham Wood and his wife Mary Breese Wood to Lansing, Tompkins Co. By Isabelle Harper Wood Parish, written in 1957 - most from papers left by my father, Albert Wood . Mary Breese (1774 - 1851) was the daughter of Henry Breese (1753 - 1835). I believe Henry followed his daughter to New York purchased land (lot 54) before moving on to Horseheads, New York. The text for this section was scanned and converted to text using optical character recognition software. The original text was typed with all caps and I made no attempt to correct the spelling. Formatting was enhanced to facilitate reading. AMASA WOOD, HIS SON, GAVE ME HIS SON, THESE ITEMS FROM MEMORY ON MARCH 25, 1894. Objetives
    The objective of this project is the characterization of the materials, and the identification and modelling of those processes which determine the behavior of the components of a high level radioactive waste repository, and subsequent application to a long-term safety assessment.
    Current Status
    The R + D framework of this project is the international research work on natural systems and underground laboratories, the European Commission framework program on radioactive wastes and ENRESA´s R + D program.
    Principal Results
    Fuel

    UO 2+x stays practically unaltered under the reducing conditions that prevail in deep granitic groundwaters. The U release to the groundwaters of the granite and to the superficial waters, in the recharge zone, is in the order of ppb´s, in spite of the presence of residual mineralizations in the granite (RATONES Project).
    The alteration/dissolution of pitchblende (UO 2+x ) releases uranium which is mainly retained in the alteration products of the host minerals, iron oxi-hydroxides and clay minerals. Based on the study of these materials, the identification and quantification of the natural retention processes is expected, as well as the determination of parameters to complete the data bases used in the performance and safety assessment (MATRIX II Project).
