ASTRO-THEOLOGY There is one species of Divine revelation which has not, and
cannot, be tampered with, one great Bible, which forms the starry
original of all Bibles.
This sacred Bible is the great Astral Bible of the skies; its
chapters are the twelve great signs, its pages are the
innumerable glittering constellations of the heavenly vault, and
its characters are the personified ideals of the radiant Sun, the
silvery moon, and the shining planets, of our solar sphere.

There is a tremendous amount of information on the internet - the equivalent of thousands of reference libraries. For those who can't easily get to a library, or who cannot afford books, the internet is a wonderful invention. There are many, many books that can be downloaded for free, to be printed out and read at leisure - these include much of the writings of the classical and ancient ages. The list below (compiled with the invaluable help of Kim Farnell) will be of particular interest to astrologers.

He did not go to school but spent a great deal of time with the old Wajarri people, learning the Wajarri language and many Dreamtime stories. He is one of the very few who know the secrets of the old culture and of its importance and is very keen to preserve it. Ross has a special attachment to the Budara story, because it is about the heart of his homeland, and the old man Budara is a great grandfather to him. Ross and his wife Olive have twelve children. Books : The Budara Story top Rosemary van den Berg ; "I was born at Moore River Native Settlement in March 1939. I am the fourth daughter of Thomas Corbett and his wife Rose Corbett nee Walley. My parents had ten children, five of whom were born at Moore River, one at Meekatharra and four at Pinjarra. The only memory I have of living at Moore River is of eating pumpkin seeds found on the ground at the back of the Settlement's kitchen. For that I got a smack off my mother. We moved to Pinjarra in the winter months of 1944, where Dad got casual employment for the next few years with several well-known farmers around the district. When Dad managed to get a job in the Public Works Department and bought a five acre block of land on the outskirts of town, the family settled in our home, called 'The Old Place', where we ten kids grew up. I went to school in Pinjarra until I was thirteen.

58. GOSPEL OF THOMAS

COMMENTARY ON THE
GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SAINT THOMAS The Gospel of Thomas came to my knowledge while I was in Germany in 1964 when I purchased a set of volumes on the New Testament apocrypha. But it wasn't until after some study that in the 1980's I purchased the English translation of the Coptic collection of sacred texts. I then began this commentary. It consists first of all in my own interpretation and translation of part of a codex written in Ethiopic from among a large library of Coptic documents found in 1945 at Nag Hammadi in Egypt ( Robinson, 1978 ). This part is called Nag Hammadi II, Koester, 1978 ). I have added to this the evidence of certain papyrus fragments in Greek found at Oxyrhinchus ( ), namely numbers Schneemelcher, 1959, I Jeremias, 1959 ), and Schneemelcher, 1959, II ). I give our version of the gospel in the left column. The translation accords quite closely to the English and German translations that have been published. The second element of this commentary is in the right column. Here I give references to and extracts from the canon and certain other early documents. It appears that these sources are in some measure based on the same tradition as Thomas' gospel. A third component of this work is the commentary itself. The point here is to give some of my thoughts on the meaning of these words of Jesus. In large part these comments are based on my own religious upbringing and understanding, which includes the Gospel as restored and taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently (2001) working on this third portion — writing and rewriting.

Biographical information:
When Amherst returned home in November, 1763, the command of the troops in America devolved on Gage, who went immediately to headquarters in New York. Although peace had been signed with France, Gage found an Indian uprising raging in the West under Pontiac. He sent out two punitive expeditions under Colonels Bradstreet and Bouquet and then left peace negotiations to Sir William Johnson, the superintendent of Indian affairs in the North. He reestablished only two of the nine posts which had fallen to the Indians. In 1765 he finally got troops into Fort Chartres on the Mississippi. Gage divided his command into three districtsnorthern, southern, and westernwith a brigadier in command of each. His officers were scattered in posts from halifax and St. Johns to Pensacola and Mobile and westward to the Mississippi. After the repeal of the Stamp Act, peacetime administrative duties occupied him, except for the excitement after the Boston Massacre on March 5, 1770. In June, 1773, Gage visited England on leave, General Haldimand commanding in his absence. He returned in May, 1774, with the additional title of governor of Massachusetts. He moved his headquarters to Boston, and his first task was to keep the port closed in punishment for the Tea Party. Friction increased, an illegal Provincial Congress was set up, and Gage's attempt to seize rebel ordnance hidden at Concord provoked the initial skirmish of the Revolution in April, 1775. Late in may reinforcements arrived to assist Gage, including three major generalsHowe, Clinton, and Burgoyne. The costly battle of Bunker Hill resulted only in the British being shut up in Boston under siege. With no further campaign in sight for that year Gage was called home in August and sailed in October. the command in America was split between Howe and Carleton. Gage was inactive during the rest of the war, but died a full general.
