DECATURVILLE CITY CEMETERY This cemetery, located on the hill three blocks north of the courthouse square, has long been the principal cemetery serving white families of Decaturville. It also seems to be the largest cemetery in the county, at least in terms of carved markers. It is difficult to judge the age of this cemetery. There are ruins of three rock cairns which generally were used before 1850 by families from coastal areas of the Carolinas. There are at least two markers with death dates in the 1850s. However, inscribed markers were rarely used in the area before 1870; most earlier graves are marked by fieldstones. There are almost no fieldstones here. I cannot help but feel that at some time the fieldstones marking early burials have been removed and the space has been reused. This record was made October 16, 1990. Update May 1995. An earlier record was made October 17, 1976, by Margarett Alexander. It appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records produced by the Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 165-198. This is referred to as "UDC transcription" in the notes below. AARON

LO Fu-Shing (1886-1914) Chinese patriot - China 2450 LO Kuan-chung, also Pinyin LUO GUANZHONG (c. 1330-c.1400) Chinese writer. Born about 1330, T'ai-yüan?, Shansi province, China, he was a Chinese writer to whom has been attributed such classic Chinese novels as San Kuo chih yen-i Romance of the Three Kingdoms ) and Shui-hu chuan Water Margin) also known to English readers as All Men Are Brothers . Almost nothing is known about the life of Lo Kuan-chung. His authorship of San Kuo chih yen-i and Shui-hu chuan (the latter jointly with Shih Nai-an), however, has increasingly been disputed. The first work is a historical narrative that exists today in a version of 120 chapters, while the second is a semihistorical picaresque novel of 100 chapters, written in the colloquial style, about a band of outlaws. Both works enjoy continued popularity among Chinese readers. CHAPTER 2
Posterity of Aggatha Ann Woolsey (1814 - 1866)
Listing 4543 descendants for 8 generations. 2. Aggatha Ann WOOLSEY was born 18Jan 1814 in Danville, Boyle, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Joseph WOOLSEY and Abigail SHAFFER. Aggatha died 4Jun 1866 in New Harmony, Washington, Utah, and was buried 5Jun 1866 in New Harmony, Washington, Utah. After arriving in Kentucky in 1805, Aggatha Ann's parents, Joseph Woolsey and Abigail Shaffer, moved several times. They continued their migratory life in a generally westward direction until about 1830 when they settled in Randolph County, Illinois as neighbors of the James Conner family. By that time they had a family of twelve children. It was there that John D. Lee met Aggatha Ann. At the time he was employed as a postal carrier with routes that had criss-crossed the southern part of the state and continued as far north as the town of Belleville near St. Louis. When his assignment was changed, taking him through the area where his cousins, the Conners, lived, on a route north, he met the Woolsey family who lived nearby. In 1831 John enlisted with his Uncle James in the local militia, responding to a call from the Illinois Governor to help put down an insurrection by Indians from the Sac and Fox Tribes in the northern part of the state. Following the bloody battle of Bad Axe on the banks of the Mississippi River, in which the bands of Sac and Fox were subdued, John returned home with Uncle James and became serious about the affections of one of the Woolsey girls who lived nearby.
