Arts Agustin Arriete Luis Barragan Angel Boliver Jesús Contreras Miguel Covarrubias Jose Luis Cuevas Jose Cuevas (born December 27, 1957) is a Mexican former world champion boxer. Cuevas won the WBA welterweight title from Angel Espada via KO in 1976 and made 10 successful defenses against Billy Backus, Pete Ranzany, Harold Volbrecht, Clyde Gray, and Scott Clark, along with two rematches with Espada. Cuevas finally lost his title in 1980 to the up-and-coming hometown hero Thomas Hearns in Detroit. Hearns knocked him out in the second round. After that, perhaps the only really notable opponent he had was Roberto Duran, who stopped him in the fourth round in the spring of 1983. He also lost to former world title challenger Jun Sok-Hwang and future or former world champions Jorge Vaca and Lupe Aquino before finally retiring in 1989. Click the link for more information.

Nota Bibliográfica Capítulo VIII LA REVOLUCIÓN COMO HECHO ESTÉTICO El 20 de noviembre de 1910 tiene lugar la rebelión de Francisco Madero contra el régimen conservador de Porfirio Díaz. Este hecho, fundamental en la historia moderna de México, habría de ser seguido por una intrincada serie de avatares políticos no siempre ajenos a la lucha armada que se prolongarían por dos décadas aproximadamente. No obstante, y más allá de sus innegables consecuencias en el plano social, el complejísimo proceso contenido bajo el rótulo ‘Revolución mexicana’, habrá de dejar profundas huellas en el campo de la creación artística. Por poner sólo ejemplos correspondientes a las artes plásticas, bastaría mencionar los nombres de Diego Rivera, Alfaro Siqueiros y Frida Khalo. Universidad de Sevilla Es cierto que la fuerza del relato literario no le viene sólo de su dimensión verbal, pues existen muchos otros discursos narrativos verbales desprovistos de dimensión estética (las diversas formas de la narración histórica o la crónica periodística, por ejemplo). De unos y de otros se ocupa la narratología general como parte de la textología, a su vez, ámbito privilegiado de la semiótica. Como afirma Genette (1991: 53): "Si las palabras tienen un sentido (y aun cuando tengan varios), la narratología -en su vertiente remática, como estudio del discurso narrativo, y en su vertiente temática, como análisis de las sucesiones de acontecimientos y acciones relatados por dicho discurso- debería ocuparse de todas las clases de relatos, ficcionales o no". Pero, para que veamos hasta qué punto el proceso de reflexión de Paz no es intemporal ni puede ser adoptado como autoridad incontestable -tiene, con todo, la eficacia de la belleza poética de la palabra-, él mismo matiza en una nota de 1993 a El laberinto de la soledad: "Releo este capítulo con sentimientos encontrados. Por una parte, se resiente de la influencia del marxismo que circulaba durante estos años en los círculios intelectuales y que fue una simplificación de la realidad política, económica y social; por otra, sobre todo hacia el fin, aparece ya una crítica del socialismo totalitario. Fue mi adiós al marxismo escolástico, al que, por lo demás, nunca fui enteramente fiel.
