We have committed ourselves in the research, development of applied and theoretical gene engineering technology under the supervision of Prof. Debao Li and Dr. Haitao Dong. Our interests focus on the analysis and interpetation of EST data and the application of micro-array technology. Magnaporthe grisea EST W e have determined the nucleotide sequence of 21,527 expressed genes (ESTs) longer than 100 bp, from the rice blast fungus ( Magnaporthe grisea ). ESTs were from a normalized M.grisea cDNA library, it includes tissues like Mycellium, conidium, germinating conidium, swelling appressorium, mature appressorium and penetration peg. All ESTs represent an estimated 7,352 mRNA transcripts (Tentative Unique Transcripts, TUTs). The sequence data have been made public on NCBI dbEST.

AMMP Home Page
Welcome to AMMP
AMMP is a modern full-featured molecular mechanics, dynamics and modeling program. It can manipulate both small molecules and macromolecules including proteins, nucleic acids and other polymers. In addition to standard features, like numerically stable molecular dynamics, fast multipole method for including all atoms in the calculation of long range potentials and robust structural optimizers, it has a flexible choice of potentials and a simple yet powerful ability to manipulate molecules and analyze individual energy terms. One major advantage over many other programs is that it is easy to introduce non-standard polymer linkages, unusual ligands or non-standard residues. Adding missing hydrogen atoms and completing partial structures, which are difficult for many programs, are straightforward in AMMP. It is written in C and has been ported to many different computers. The source code is available under the GNU "copyleft" so that it is easy to follow exactly what the program is doing. Another major advantage over commercial software is that AMMP can be easily included in another program to supply molecular mechanics function. The program and modeling methods are under active development. User feedback is appreciated and incorporated in the program. A graphical interface is available for Linux and Unix with the openGL graphics language and for windows 95/98/NT

now available. The latest wheat build uses 397K public sequences
The wheat EST database can now be searched by digital differential display as well as keyword/BLAST.
Overview
In the Functional Genomics group at the University of Bristol , we are (in collaboration with Rothamstead Research) investigating gene function in wheat and maize as part of the BBSRC IGF program . In wheat , we have obtained 26K quality and vector trimmed EST's from 35 cDNA libraries relating to different stages of grain development and various stress treatments. These sequences have be used to produce a ~10K feature unigene set, which has been arrayed on to glass slides. These arrays are currently being used for high-throughput gene expression studies, and are available to the wider public on request. In maize we have produced transposon mutagenesis resources based on Robertson's Mutator ( Mu ) transposable elements. These include a classic

Glossaries in genetics and genomics, molecular biology and biochemistry, postgenomics, biotechnology and bioinformatics (including proteomics)and medical genomics from Science Magazine Online.
http://www.sciencemag.org/feature/plus/sfg/education/glossaries.shtml
The rapid changes afoot in genomics, bioinformatics, and gene medicine are forcing scientists, policymakers, and the public alike to grapple with some unfamiliar terminology. The Web, fortunately, offers a rich supply of online glossaries and dictionaries to help make sense of it all. A bit too rich, in fact; to narrow down the choices, we've gathered on this page some of the better online glossaries out there. We've awarded a rosette ( ) to the top sites in selected categories, and a star ( ) to denote additional standout resources. In conferring these rankings, we've tended to favor comprehensive sites that make good use of the Web, through functionality such as internal hyperlinking of related terms. (Those not so honored are still excellent, however, and are well worth a visit.) Although not the most comprehensive of the many online genomics glossaries, the NHGRI's entry is the best-known, the most accessible, and ultimately the most fun. You can search or browse a list of 188 terms in the database, each linked to a cogent definition, related terms, and, in some cases, illustrations. What gives this resource extra interest, though, are accompanying streaming-audio elaborations, each a minute or so in length, by various scientists (here's an example, for the term
