Talent: When writing a book, the less writing "talent" you have, the easier it will be for you. Creativity: I have one word of advice for you when it comes to creativity. DON'T. Time: You've probably been told it takes years to write a good book. These are lies Luck: Luck has nothing to do with writing and publishing your book. Writing ability: Do you know how to talk? Then you know how to write! Getting an agent: I'll give you the three steps to getting an agent that will have several of them lining up within 36 hours! Book review As you're looking for info on " write romance ", we thought you might be interested in our ultimate book recommendation: When God Writes Your Love Story
$13.99 - ISBN 1929125003
A Quacky Tale of Love and Dating God's Way - Eric and Leslie Ludy have produced a book on basic Christian dating. The authors talk candidly about the mistakes that they made in their own lives and the successes that they experienced in dating. If you are looking for a book that tells you that impure, selfish, and frivolous dating relationships are OK, then this is not the book for you (or perhaps it is?). Eric and Leslie lay out some key groundwork for a successful dating relationship. The main aspect that they talk about is surrendering our will to God. The modern laws of dating tell us that we should just go for it and see where things go. The Ludy talk simply about FAITH. Trusting God to lay the foundation of your dating relationship and even who you will date. The main point is that we will never be truly happy until we do surrender every part of our lives to God.

YOU ASKED FOR IT: AND WE'VE GOT YOUR ANSWER
Issue #241, March 2004
Ann gets active on the passive voice and explains what an "original" romance really means.
Dear Ann: I would love to start off my Chapter One with a grabber of a sentence. Something like, "It was only a matter of time before the wedding guests killed one another," from Julie Garwood's THE GIFT . It's my personal favorite. Just by reading that first line, I'm already asking, "Why do they want to kill one another?" and "Who is getting married?" While there's a passive "was" in that first line, so many authors use it. Is it OK for unpublished writers to use "was" in a first line to propel a story?
Yes. Using a "passive" sentence from the get-go isn't a deal breaker; using passive sentences throughout the manuscript will be. If you want a "rule" for this, I'd say to use active sentence structure/voice as often as possible when writing fiction.
To help you do that, let's define "active" and "passive" sentence structure:
