If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt every time he hopped. Weehope, Georgia sleeps in a small hollow in a place long deserted. Nothing changes but the occasional echoes of laughter and tears whispering through tall, swaying pines. An agile mouse scurries through the weathered smokehouse amid faint smells of cured hams and sausages that once dangled from the rafters. A rotting hope chest sags beneath years of dust and rat droppings. In the darkest hours of the night, an occasional hoot owl interrupts the deserted spaces. Read an excerpt. 122. Gordon Aalborg - Cat Tracks
Author Gordon Aalborg (aka Victoria Gordon) announces the release of CAT TRACKS from Delphi Books, an epic of feline survival. writing as Victoria Gordon, Gordon authored twenty contemporary romance novels, published by Harlequin/Mills Boon. He returns to women's fiction with the release of Sunset Woman.
http://www.gordonaalborg.com/main.html
"He turned his head very slowly to find the cat's great luminous eyes fixed upon his own...it was like staring into the eyes of a tiger, eyes that were filled with a wildness no human could really comprehend...the coldness, the alien hostility in those eyes was fearsome..." Available Now! T he feral cat is very much a product of human carelessness at best, and callousness at worst. As truly wild as the great cats of Africa and Asia, the feral cat is perhaps the most successful predator in the bush - and a growing threat to rare native marsupials, birds and reptiles. Its agility, speed, hunting acumen and lack of natural predators make it one of the most destructive introduced species, and naturalists and conservationists see its eradication as vital, but unlikely. Love it or hate it, the cat is a world-class survivor! T his is the story of such a cat, seen partly through the cat's own eyes and partly through those of an old bushman who is fascinated by a creature his logic tells him he should hate and despise. The cat's life-long fight for survival is an elemental story of the animal world, its interplay with the world of humans, and of the natural forces which shape both.

IPATIA'S WORKS OF ART
Welcome to Greek American author and poet Patty Apostolides' website! Patty Apostolides is a poet, author and a true artist at heart. She has written a romance novel that takes place in Greece, published poetry, played musical instruments and even composed music. She also dabbles in painting and needlepoint. To create is an inherent part of her. This webpage is an opportunity to share her creations with you. If you are a writer, you know how much time and effort it takes to write. Whether it's a short story, a poem, a novel, or even a scientific article, it is also a work of art. It requires that one reach inside one's soul, one's inner self, for inspiration. The beauty of the process is that one transcends the boundaries of time and escapes for awhile into another world. A world where people come alive, or music, or paintings. A world of creation. Something that did not exist before, but that you created to share with others.
Writing also requires persistence and discipline. Without those two, one cannot finish what one begins. Writing a novel requires a different mentality from writing poetry, or a short story. It not only requires a willing mind, but a few hours a day devoted towards writing. Writers tend to be avid readers. Patty Apostolides appreciates her readers. She has been one for many many years, as far back as she could remember. When she writes, it's always with the image of her reader in the background, looking over her shoulder. How will they take this particular section? Will it make them cry or laugh?

125. Tips
by Eugenia Riley
http://www.eugeniariley.com/tips.htm
TIPS ON WRITING THE TIME-TRAVEL ROMANCE by Eugenia Riley 1. If this is your first romance, or your first time-travel romance, it might be best to avoid the far-fetched and far-out. Remember that even a simple time-travel idea will bring about many complications in the transition from one age to another, the adjustment of your character to another time, and the consequences of the time-travel experience to both time periods. When your plot becomes too complicated, the time-travel experience too technical, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that you're writing a love story, not a treatise on time-travel. For a beginner, a relatively straightforward story featuring a protagonist who moves from past to present, or vice versa, may be best. It might be advisable, too, to avoid mixing genrese.g., combining time-travel romance with science fiction or futuristic genres. 2. Try to deal with the complications/implications of the time-travel experience in a way that neither leaves loose ends nor overwhelms the love story itself. Ideally, your time-travel experience should be integral to the romance. Ask yourself why your character has made this journey through time. What needs are being better met in another time period, and with the new love interest discovered there? Here again, the romance should loom foremost in your mind.

Patricia Simpson - Award-Winning Author of Paranormal Romance
About the Author...
Until recently, Patricia Simpson hailed from the moody shores of the Puget Sound in Washington State, where writing paranormal suspense novels was a natural consequence of living in the mist and rain. Since her marriage to a Scotsman (yes, a real livewire Scot just like those heroes in her novels!), she now resides in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California.
Patricia's favorite writing arenas are the 18th century in America and Great Britain, Pacific Northwest Native American history and issues, ancient Egypt, and anything that involves weird science. All of her published novels are contemporary paranormal or romantic suspense.

    137. Lions And Tigers And Werewolves, Oh My!  Writing The Paranormal Romance
writing the Paranormal romance by Becci Clayton.
    http://www.hodrw.com/writingtheparanormal.htm
Lions and Tigers and Werewolves, Oh My!
Writing the Paranormal Romance by Becci Clayton Read any good vampire stories recently where he isn't killed and the heroine marries him because she loves him? How about a heroine who falls in love with a gorgeous, tall, blonde who is actually a cat in disguise? What do these story lines have in common? They are paranormal romances. Writing the paranormal romance isn't as easy as it seems. This type of story is not just about settings in different universes or heroines taking wobbly candlesticks and ascending into attics because they heard ghosts. Paranormal romance requires even more attention to plot development and detail. Points to consider in writing a paranormal are believability in the three "C's"character, conflict and consistency. CHARACTER: When writing about a character from a different time or setting other than present day earth, you need more detail. It's perfectly fine to make your hero a feline king on planet Xlkdat but then explain what his ordinary environment is like in terms that we carbon based bags of water life forms can understand and somehow relate to. Is he afraid of water and why? If his race has fur, does he find the nearly "furlessness" of the heroine very erotic and unusual? If your heroine is a ghost, what is her greatest fear? What if she became human again? Does she miss the touch of velvet against her warm skin? If she travels to the future, does she miss the smell and texture of fresh baked bread in the cold, stainless steel world?
