Model Ships - 1/96 Scale Wooden Plank on Frame Model Ship Kits
for Static Display or R/C for the Experienced Model Builder - Ship Models Just Released:
Brooklyn Class Light Cruiser Welcome to Bad Ship Models on the Internet. We are a manufacturer of wood plank on frame ship model kits for static or R/C Remote Control ). We offer the model builder kits that were not available in the past, in a size and scale that is of interest to their modeling requirements. In the past, you had a choice of either building completely from scratch, or purchasing a fiberglass hull and building the balance of your ship from scratch. In either case, by the time you were done, your model cost a small fortune because of all the other items that had to be purchased to complete the model. At BaD, we produce kits which contain a majority of the items needed to finish your model. All out kits contain molded polyester or vacuum formed parts in the form of gun mounts, gun directors, missile systems, ladders, doors, and more. In running hardware, we include drive shafts, stuffing boxes, brass props, and rudder assemblies with rudder arms and stuffing tubes

87. Rescue Of The Danish Jews
Amidst the madness of war, there are moments of hope and illumination. In world war ii, one such instance was the night when the Danes got truly fed up with Adolf Hitler and his Nazis and saved their Jews.
http://auschwitz.dk/Denmark.htm
The Holocaust of WW2 is certain to be remembered as humanity's blackest chapter of the century - between 1941 and 1945, German dictator Adolf Hitler and his Nazis murdered some 6 million Jews. Amidst the madness of war, there are moments of hope and illumination. In World War II, one such instance was the Danish Jews’ escape from Hitler’s genocidal plan to eradicate all Jews from Europe. The nobility of the human soul on a night when the Danes got truly fed up with the führer ... Danish Jews reached safety .. It's one of the great untold stories of World War II: In 1943, in German-occupied Denmark, the Danish people find out that all 7,500 Danish Jews are about to be rounded up and deported to German concentration camps. Danish citizens spontaneously make their own decision: it's not going to happen. And it didn't. Risking their own lives, the Danes quickly rallied round to save their fellow citizens, and almost all of the country's Jews were able to escape the clutches of the Nazis and find refuge in neutral Sweden. In 1941, in the midst of World War II, the Germans began their "Final Solution" for the Jews. At that time there were 10 million Jews in the countries of German-occupied Europe. By 1945, less than half of that number were left alive. The Nazi goal was to exterminate the Jews and rule Europe in an ethnically "pure" German Empire.

88. Hong Kong Reparation Association
Campaigns for the restitution of Hong Kongese who lived under Japanese occupation in world war ii.
http://home.netvigator.com/~hkra2002
This is the most tragic incident that should evoke the attention of the world.
T he most conspicuous act was how the Japanese government forcibly made Hong Kong residents trade in their Hong Kong Dollars, gold, foreign currencies and various other stocks and shares certificates for Japanese currency and vouchers used by the Japanese army (hereafter referred to as Military Yen) as the only legal curency in Hong Kong. People who were found to be using Hong Kong Dollars or other foreign currencies were severely punished by the Japanese Army some were even executed. A fact that many members of our Association can attest to as they are all victims. As from December 25, 1941, the Japanese government started to exchange one Military Yen for two Hong Kong Dollars. Starting from July 24,1942 the exchange rate was one Military Yen for four Hong Kong Dollars. Up to today there are over five hundred million dollars' worth of Military Yen in the possesion of our members. Taken from: http://www.cnd.org/NJMassacre/index.html

It was our battle-cry.
"We shall prevail, we will not fail,
When lead begins to fly!" Amid the yells, the smoke and shells
By light of sun or flare;
The stubborn foe did surely know
That 'Double-Deuce' was there! On rock and mud, our comrades' blood
Was shed while battle roared. Our nation's treasure: their last full measure With full devotion poured. On mercy bent, the 'corpsmen' went Where wounded men were lying, And 'Holy Joe" was never slow With comfort for the dying. To Guam's warm shore we sailed once more, Where we could rest a spell Awards, for sure, that shall endure For those who fought thru Hell.

Japan's Prisoner of War (POW) Camps
    Basic Facts
U.S. prisoners of war held by the Empire of Japan, 1941-1945 died at a rate exceeding 37% while in captivity. On the other hand, U.S. prisoners of war held captive by Nazi Germany died at a rate of less than 2% while held by the Germans. (Based on figures from Center For Internee Rights Japan's war prisoner guards were largely Japanese, however, Formosan (Taiwanese) and Korean guards were also integrated into the guard forces. Escapes were rare. Unlike the situation in Europe, the mostly Caucasian Allied prisoners could not mingle among Asians without instant recognition. Furthermore, the local Asian populations were subjected to severe reprisals from the Japanese when helping Allied POW. There was at least one notable successful rescue attempt, at Cabanatuan in the Philippines late in the war [ Daws, p. 324.
