Information on English teaching jobs in Mexico, photo album, information on teacher training and a newsletter.
http://www.teach-english-mexico.com/
This is your one-stop-shop for information and resources on
teaching English in Mexico. Everything you need in one place. "These people know Mexico!"
Roger Gallo, Author of Escape from America - The book about restarting your life abroad. Voted a 'Top-Rated Site" by visitors to Dave's ESL Café. "We are pleased to inform you that your site: Teach English in Mexico has been selected by Toorista.com as one of the best of the web for the year 2004 :
Category : Teaching or Studying in a foreign country. "
Perfect for college graduates seeking work experience abroad, retirees looking for low cost living, or anyone interested in a new adventure. The beaches, cathedrals, pyramids, and archeological ruins will amaze you. You will create memories that will last a lifetime! I have taught ESL in several countries (Thailand, Taiwan, China, Germany, Holland, Mexico, US) and I have to say that the Mexican students were by far the best students I have ever had. They were bright, fun, interesting, friendly, respectful, spontaneous, appreciative, creative, curious, witty, and down right charming! I don’t think it was just that I was lucky and got good students, I think it is the Mexican way. People I met outside of school and in different parts of the country were also all so nice that I can only conclude that it is the Mexican character. If you want to feel good about teaching and good about people in general, than I recommend Mexico. Dan Ward, Amherst, USA

167. Phonics Books, Phonics Programs, Phonics Pathways | Dorbooks, Inc.| Reading Prog
Features books and games that teach reading and spelling with direct, systematic phonics.
http://www.dorbooks.com
"Within 7 weeks all my first-graders now read! Phonics Pathways is a perfect complement to our classroom reading program. Pamela M. Barret, Tovashal Elementary School, CA - NRRF Teacher Of The Year 1998

Why Study Phonics with Dorbooks?
Because at Dorbooks, Inc. we believe that reading, like any other complex skill such as dancing or playing the piano, is most effectively taught gradually, one note, one step at a time until whole groups of notes, or steps can be combined into an entire song or dance routine. Dorbooks, Inc. publishes phonics books and phonics games teaching reading and spelling using direct, systematic phonics . Sounds and syllables gradually build into words and sentences. Phonics is the process - sight reading is the result.

Dyslexia Revisited
What is dyslexia? Some experts feel that dyslexia is inborn and can never be cured; while others believe there is no such thing as dyslexia, and it is just a result of improper teaching methods. Most experts agree however, that for whatever reason, dyslexia results from an inability to distinguish and/or process the sounds that make up speech. But what causes this inability? It is at this point that opinions begin to diverge.... Read the rest of this article by Dolores Hiskes...
