He is so well behaved and such a little love. He got adopted but then started to urinate in the house. It didn't seem right; I knew Chewie would never go in the house unless something was wrong with his health. Sure enough, he had bladder stones. After a month on medication and special food the stones were the still the same and he needed surgery. At that point, his adoptive home decided not to take him back. He was doing well, then out of nowhere at the end of March he started losing weight. One day he began urinating excessively. Then he started drinking like he couldn't relieve his thirst. Then he couldn't stand up. All this happened in the space of about 8 hours. We rushed him to the emergency vet and he was diagnosed with diabetes. He quickly got much worse and they didn't hold out much hope for him. He developed an infection and his blood sugar was over 700. We wouldn't give up on him though, and 10 days later he walked out of the hospital on his own and has been doing great ever since.
