web hosting domain names email addresses About Us Translate to: Deutsch Welcome to the web site of "Wood carving Bakardzhiev".
We offer racks for hunting trophies, boxes for jewels, cigars and letters, frameworks for mirrors, carved ceiling and pillars.
All these products are hand made of massive high quality walnut timber that is preliminary processed through special technology and impresses with its natural, soft and noble color.
The articles are not only beautiful but they are also unique since they are being manufactured according to an original style designed by the family and inspired by the nature fascination and perfection.
Work style is elaborated by Nenko Bakardzhiev who has been dealing with wood carving since the early 1960s. 1989 he founded "Wood carving Bakardzhiev" and ever since that he has been working with his son - Delcho Bakardzhiev.
Wood carving workmanship is particularly delicate and extremely complicated matter and that makes its art pieces desirables and wanted in Europe, Asia and America.
We kindly present to your attention several pictures with racks that embellish many famous gentlemen`s collections among which are Mehmet Adakan, Erwin Hemmelseher, Fernando Viyella, Manuel Luis del Valle, Willam Sefton etc.

This program presents a selection of renderings of American woodcarvings, primarily of the nineteenth century. The selection is organized into five groups that are typical of this craft. These categories, though by no means all-inclusive, are ship carvings, shop figures and trade signs, circus and carousel carvings, weather vanes and whirligigs, and dolls and birds. Nineteenth century American woodcarving is part of our folk tradition. Even though some carvings reflect other sources, they are still American an expression of the time and place from which they came and of the craftsmen who produced them.

The most known works of Stanislaw Raczynski from the post-war period include the cycle of 8 wood-cuts entitled "Krakow" and the cycle "Architecture of Ancient Polish Towns". He also dedicated a nice cycle of wood-cuts to Polish traditions and farmers. In 1960s he experimented with more contemporary abstract forms.
Stanislaw Raczynski was an expert in romantic music and a good pianist. His repertoire included works of Chopin, Debussy, Mendelson, Albeniz, as well as Scarlatti, Mozart and Beethoven. His sense of humor was well known among his friends. He was also an enthusiast of fishing and motor-cycles. He always had some of those wonderful old machines, maintained and repaired by himself.
The works of Stanislaw Raczynski are not easily available. Many of his early works have been destroyed during the war. Some isolated examples of his wood-cuttings still circulate in art shops in Krakow, Poland.

    Where Wood Comes Alive!
2003 offers a Multitude of Woodcarving Talent
    With the folowing instructors:
    Steve Prescott
Steve is one of the founding members of Caricature Carvers of America. He travels to all parts of the United States sharing his woodcarving talent with others. Steve has been coming from Texas to the National Museum of Woodcarving for over 12 years. Each time he teaches a class, his students leave with a part of his "Texas warmth." This year Steve will be teaching a caricature cowboy (Texas style of course!) for $125 plus blank.
Jeff's work is in high demand, and can be found in only a few select galleries around the US! Keith Morrill -National Museum of Woodcarving's Resident Woodcarver

Keith is a self-taught artist who began whittling in high school. He carved off and on over the years, but carving didn’t develop into a serious hobby until about 1984. Keith has worked hard developing his art by taking many classes from some of the finest carvers. After trying many different styles, he has found his niche doing caricature carving. Through hard work and a desire to keep improving, he has “carved” his name as one of the best. He was accepted into the Caricature Carvers of America group in 1993. Keith has been “carver-in-residence” at the National Museum of Woodcarving for several summers. Kirt Curtis
Kirt is a professional woodcarver from Lincoln, Nebraska, but his busy schedule of teaching others the love of woodcarving doesn’t allow for much time in America’s Heartland. Kirt learned woodcarving from many people, but Desiree Hajny (a top realistic animal woodcarver) may be Kirt’s biggest supporter. Kirt has taught from Canada to Texas, and from Atlantic to Pacific. Everywhere he goes, Kirt brings a warmth and easygoing style with him. He has spent several summers at the National Museum of Woodcarving teaching everything from the carving of Buffalo and Moose, to the carving of Elk and White tail Deer. Kirt has had his best recommendation come from the students who take his classes (and come back for more). The “life” that Kirt brings to his classes overflows into each woodcarving that his students create. Once you have taken one of his classes, you will take with you not only a work of art, but also memories that will last a lifetime.
