Welcome to Llwyn y Brain
The Yeomans family have been involved in farming and the meat trade for many years, beginning in the Midlands in the mid 1800s with the Yeomans Brothers Butchers shops and farms near Lichfield.

In 1973 the family started farming at Llwyn y Brain in Mid Wales which is a traditional family farm keeping suckler cows and sheep in the rolling hills of Montgomeryshire.
The farmland consists of hill ground that climbs to 1400 feet above sea level. The lower ground around the farm house includes part of an ancient woodland and the River Rhiw forms the lower boundary.
We make every effort to farm in a manner which is sympathetic to the environment. In recent years we have replanted over 500 metres of native hedgerows and have created five ponds to attract wildlife.
Farm Assurance and Welfare
The farm is a member of Farm Assured Welsh Livestock (No. 0452). This involves farm inspections by vets looking at aspects such as stock health, husbandry, housing, handling facilities and record keeping. This farm assurance for all stock means that you can be sure of the highest standards of animal welfare and quality.

Information about the movement founded in 1949.
http://www.llgc.org.uk/Ymgyrchu/Pleidleisio/lleiafrifol/WRM/index-e.htm
The Welsh Republican Movement The Welsh Republican Movement was set up in September 1949 as a result of a difference of opinion that occurred in the Plaid Cymru Conference of that year. Around fifty of the Plaid Cymru members decided to walk out of the conference and set about creating their own party. Gwilym Prys-Davies, W. Huw R. Davies, Trefor Morgan and Cliff Bere were among them. "They believed that Plaid Cymru's emphasis upon the Welsh language and upon the interests of the rural areas prevented it from gaining support in the industrial south-east, they also argued that the pacificism of Gwynfor Evans, the leader since 1945, hindered the adoption of a militant stance." John Davies, History of Wales A candidate was put forward to represent the movement in Ogmore during the 1950 General Election. This candidate was Ithel Davies (1894-1989) and he received 613 votes, 1.3% of all the votes cast. Ithel Davies was a former member of the Labour Party, and in the 1935 General Election he was the Labour candidate for the University of Wales seat. There was a patriotic feel to the election pamphlets and the 'Republican Manifesto'. This is a part of Ithel Davies' election pamphlet for 1950:

The next time you hear of a super model or film star described as glamorous think of this:- The word glamour comes from the ancient Welsh.

really mean it! They speak Welsh in Patagonia!

156. How To Buy A Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Advice from the Pembroke welsh Corgi Club of America.
http://www.pembrokecorgi.org/buycorgi.htm
GUIDE TO BUYING A PEMBROKE WELSH CORGI
Think about why you want a dog.
Corgis live 12 to 15 years and over that time span you will invest a fair amount of time, energy, and expense. If you are not prepared to make this commitment, would another less demanding animal be more suitable?
Who will be caring for this dog?
Do they have experience? Will they need help? If the new owner is to be a young child, are the parents prepared to do the bulk of the puppy care and training? There are many books available on dog care and training which will help you in your search and with daily care after the purchase.
Think about what you want your Corgi to do.
What function will he have in your home? Will he be a companion for a child or an elderly person? Will he be expected to do farm work, or play football with three teenagers? What temperament would best suit this function? Often the question of show versus pet quality arises. The most important concerns for you as a puppy buyer are the puppy's health and temperament. Show quality is often determined by size of ears and the shape of the feet, things that are subjective and not important in determining a dog's value as a companion.
Look at as many Corgis as you can.

Did you know?
So You Want To Own A Welsh Terrier?

Welsh Terriers make excellent city or apartment dog.
The Welsh Terrier is a sturdy and rugged dog always alert and ready for action.
The Welsh Terrier's wiry dense coat requires weekly brushing.
The Welsh Terrier will be content in a city apartment or in the country. He is a friendly, outgoing, and playful dog who loves people.
History
Judging from the old paintings and prints of the first known terriers, the Welsh Terrier is a very old breed, for these prints show us a rough-haired black-and-tan terrier.
In old times this dog was more commonly known as the Old English Terrier or Black-and-Tan Wire Haired Terrier, and as late as 1886 the English Kennel Club allotted one class for "Welsh or Old English Wire Haired Black and Tan Terriers." Even to this day the color of the Welsh is as it was over a hundred years ago.
In other respects, also, the Welsh Terrier has changed very slightly. He is, as he was then, a sporting dog extensively used in his native home, Wales, for hunting the otter, fox, and badger, and he possesses the characteristic gameness that one naturally looks for in such a dog. Although game, he is not quarrelsome; in fact, he is well mannered and easy to handle.
