Welcome to the WW2010 Current Weather Products Section. The first stage of development includes a product list of analysis and observation plots. Each weather product is linked to explanatory helper sections that are useful not only for interpreting the images, but also for understanding important topics in meteorology. Just click on the question marks for this assistance. Current Weather Surface Weather Contains current surface weather information such as temperature maps, station observations, and specialized analysis pair images, as well as daily charts like precipitation and max/min temperatures. Satellite Weather Contains our always popular satellite database, allowing for all different viewing options and imaging channels. XMG The best resources for perilous times. Keeping warm is of the utmost importance in staying alive. The right clothes are foundational to a good strategy. There are a few key things to know. First, layering is the way to go. Second, wool is great and cotton is not good at all for cold-weather wear. This is because of how they function when they get wet: wool continues to insulate, cotton does not. Cotton is great for summer. Fourth, the most important part of your cold-weather clothing is the correct long underwear. The best is fishnet and can be purchased from Wiggy's . These things are great for use in any winter activity. After writing the above, I have listened to Jim Phillips, also known as Mr. Cold, speak on staying warm in cold weather. His ideas obviously work in the worst possible conditions and deserve our attention. He has plunged into freezing water, then spent the night in sub-zero weather without drying off, or having the benefit of fire or shelter, to prove the effectiveness of his clothing ideas. He makes some special clothes called "Thermal Johns" or "TJs" incorporating all his cold weather research. They would be an excellent investment which I recommend.
