Welcome to the web site for the C.P.Smith School Library Media Center. The Library Media Center serves a population of 325 students and a staff of 30+. All students visit the Media Center each week to select materials appropriate to class assignments and to support personal interests and independent learning. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students have a scheduled weekly class visit; 3rd through 5th grade visits are flexibly-scheduled, to allow for greater access based on classroom projects and assignments. In addition, students and staff are encouraged to visit the Learning Center whenever questions or queries arise. The C.P. Smith Learning Center has a collection of approximately 17,000 print volumes, internet access, and a growing collection of electronic resources. The Learning Center also serves as web publisher for student and class activities. The Media Center owns several digital cameras (still and video) for staff and student projects. The Library Media Center is staffed by Mrs. Shannon Walters, library media specialist, and Mrs. Toni Taginski, Library Media Center Assistant. Parents and guardians are welcome to get their own library cards - come "check us out"!

School Choice and Legislation
As school choice options have made their way to the individual state as the various "laboratories of democracy," many on-line resources have been established to track legislation across the nation in individual states. Advocacy organizations have also established school choice web sites in individual states where legislation has been proposed. Lastly, there exist a number of general resource sites located at web site portals, search engines, and news media devoted to the topic of education.
