Towards a Sustainable Earth
The Cambridge Environment Initiative (CEI) exists to promote interdisciplinary environmental research and education within the University and to encourage better understanding of environmental issues. CEI has evolved from CIES (Committee for Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies) which was formed in 1992 with a ten year term. During this term, CIES ran a successful lecture series, and through CERNet (Cambridge Environmental Research Network) produced a register of environmental research and regular newsletter. NEW IDENTITY THEFT LAWS WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
On June 7th, 2004, Attorney General William H. Sorrell and Senators Dick Sears (Bennington) and John Bloomer (Rutland) announced at a press conference in Manchester today that a bill to protect consumers from identity theft has been passed by the Legislature. Governor Jim Douglas is expected to sign the bill into law tomorrow. The bill creates a new crime of identity theft, and provides new tools to assist victims. “Identity theft is a big problem getting bigger both here in Vermont and nationally. The financial losses to victims, both individuals and businesses, are staggering,” said Attorney General Sorrell. Identity theft occurs when a thief takes over a consumer’s entire identity by stealing critical private information (such as SSN, driver’s license number, address, credit card number or bank account number) so that the thief can use the stolen information to obtain illegal loans or credit lines to buy goods or services under the stolen name. Usually the identity thief changes the consumer’s mailing address on new or old accounts to hide his or her illegal activities.

A floral design school that offers complete floral instruction is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. The floral design classes are comprehensive and offer floral education that covers all aspects of the floral industry. In addition we introduce procedures during the Basic Floral Design Class on how to buy and price fresh flowers, floral arrangements, wedding flowers, bouquets and services. Florists who are training for a floral career that will enhance their already existing skills should consider the Advanced Floral Design Class. Professional floral design instruction is vital especially to people who have already invested money into an existing business. I encourage those entrepreneurs to seek out a reputable floral design school to give them the tools they need to succeed. If you have already purchased a flower shop get as much flower training as you can from someone who has done it successfully. Flower shop management is a business that is ever changing so continuing education is important in our industry. It is not only important to learn floral design but, to keep learning. A floral design school can help a shop owner keep a competetive advantage, by helping to educate the owner on current trends in the floral industry.
