We hope you will find it informative about the museum and the history of transportation in and around San Antonio. We really hope you will come to visit us and experience our collections, our working railroad and the various smaller scale train layouts that we operate. The museum was begun in 1964. It's a great place, built and run by volunteers who like this stuff so much we are willing to work for free! We receive no government funding of any kind and so are totally dependent on the income we make from visitors. We must be doing something right if we are still here after 40 years! Trains are on the first floor, and the real life exhibits include the Imperial carriages used by Emperor Meiji and Japan's first steam locomotive (1872).
