Classroom Lesson Plans Here are links to some lesson plans I've developed for use in my Creative Drama Classroom (and a few games and lessons from others as well). All of these lessons have been tested and proven successful in the classroom. Let me know if they work for you. Have a great lesson plan you'd like to share? Send it to me! I'll try it out and post it here. I'm hoping eventually to have a large library of proven lesson plans here.
Email me! To help you find just what you need, I've sorted these lessons in a few different ways: By AGE LEVEL By LESSON TYPE By cross-curricular CONTENT Lesson Plans Sorted by Age Level Most of these lesson plans work with a large age range (with appropriate adjustments in level of sophistication), but I've listed them here in approximate order, from youngest to oldest. These lessons are presented with fairly specific instructions, for the most part, but should not be understood as carved-in-stone methods. Every teacher will have her or his individual slant on these activities.

Constantin Stanislavski and Realism Constantin Stanislavski is best known for developing a system of acting and personal development, advocating realism in the theatre. He is arguably one of the two most influential figures in 20th Century theatre. At the heart of realism are believable characters and action. http://www.theatrelinks.com/stanislavski.htm http://www.theatrelinks.com/realism.htm Visit the links on Stanislavski and Realism, noting in your workbook responses to key questions outlined below:

Check out the newest updates to this page. WELCOME! Welcome to childdrama.com! This site used to be called "Children's Theatre/Creative Drama" with a web address as long as your arm, but I've finally sprung for my own domain. If you've been a longtime friend of the site, some of the occasional problems with the free server should be gone now. And don't worryI'm not going commercial or anything like that. The name has changed, but the song remains the same.
This website is packed with resources for Drama Teachers in Elementary and Secondary Schools, and for producers of Theatre for Young Audiences. I created this website to help me get my own plays out there, and to provide help and support to producers, school Theatre directors, and classroom Drama teachers. Since then it has become one of the biggest educational drama resources on the net. There is all sorts of great stuff here! If you are looking for a great children's play to produce, or for some really effective lesson plans for your Drama classroom, you came to the right place! I have also included a bibliography of helpful books, definitions of terms with discussion, proven monologues for young performers, a list of great links, and tons of other helpful stuff. There are even dozens of photos from productions I've directed and designed, most of them with and/or for young people. (Don't worrythe photos are on their own pages. I've tried to keep the graphics to a reasonable level throughout the site, in consideration of those folks who hate sitting around waiting for pages to load.)
